As per para 4.3.5.3.1 of CAR Section 9 Series D Part V,New ACAS installations after 1 January 2014 shall monitor own aircraft vertical rate to verify compliance with the RA sense. If non-compliance is detected, ACAS shall stop assuming compliance, and instead shall assume the observed vertical rate”. Compliance of this requirement can be achieved by implementation of TCAS version 7.1. AS per para 4.3.5.3.3 of above CAR, “After 1 January 2017 all ACAS units shall comply with the requirements stated in 4.3.5.3.1" Considering the progress made by the industry the applicability of para 43.5.3.3 of CAR Section 8, Series D, Part V has been extended till 1* July 2017.
