Light is a creative medium -
perhaps the most powerful of all,
because most of what we know of
our environment comes to us
through our eyes, and because the
way we see things depends on how
they are lighted. There is light to
ease the task. . . enhance color,
sparkle, texture . . . enlarge space
... creat intimacy . . . stimulate or
tranquilize. . . to look at and enjoy.
The collection presented here is
primarily lighting to look at -
glitter or glow - which helps define
an ambience, in lorms which have
their own special beauty.
It is also lighting to see by -
assisting in the perception ol our
interiors, their inhabitants,
furnishings and possessions . . .
although today this function is
increasing ly performeb by adding

which follow enable the creative designer to
compose ind ivid ualized lig hting arrangements
to serve the style, spatial and lighting
requirements ol the particular interior. Ten
groups of lighting elements are described,
each providing a dislinct character ol
illumination. The thoughtful designer will first
select the appropriate pendant elements lrom
the wide variety ol sizes, shapes, colors and
types. He will then choose the spreader that
satisfies the proportions of the space to be
lighted. Pendants may be suspended at
uniform levels or at staggered heights. The
lascinating effects created are limited only by
the horizons of the imagination.
