I am to inform that a meeting on Southern Punjab
Development Programme (SPDP) is scheduled to be held under the
chairmanship of Sirdar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Senior Advisor to Chief
Minister on 19.10.2009 at 11:30 a.m. at 90-Shahra-e-Quaid-e-
Azam, Lahore.
You are, therefore, requested to kindly make it convenient
to inform MPAs in consultation with Deputy Secretary (SA-II) to Sr.
Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab and attend the meeting alongwith
MPAs.
You are further requested to complete the consultation
process on identified schemes with MPAs of District Jhang (Faisalabad
Division) and District Bhakkar, Mianwali and Khushab (Sargodha
Division).

been provided for implementation of 120 schemes under Southern Punjab Development
Programme (SPDP). Of these allocations an amount of Rs. 1,883.320 million is earmarked
for implementation of 52 number of schemes pertaining to C&W Department (copy at

Kindly refer to this department’s supplementary grant advice No. 3(190)RP/
P&D/2009-Re-app dated 03.12.2009 vide which an allocation of Rs. 4674.557 million has
been provided for implementation of 120 schemes under Southern Punjab Development
Programme (SPDP). Of these allocations an amount of Rs. 1,528.128 million is earmarked
for implementation of 34 number of schemes pertaining to Multan Division (copy at
Annex-A).
2. As you know that the Southern Punjab Development Programme (SPDP) is a
flagship initiative of the present regime which includes the schemes which are strategic in
nature, have immediate impact, benefit maximum area of populace, Pro-poor and job
creating. The portfolio of the scheme has been identified by a Committee headed by Sirdar
Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Sr. Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab in consultation with local
representative and the Commissioners of Multan, Bahawalpur and D.G. Khan Divisions.
3. You are, therefore, requested to kindly take immediate necessary measures for
timely approval/implementation of the schemes pertaining to your sector so as substantial
progress could be achieved on the programme by the close of current financial year.
