Introducing the WEG DWB Series of Molded Case Circuit Breakers now available with UL 489
certification. With its three compact frames, the DWB UL provides protection from 20 to 400
amperes in two versions: Standard 80% rated and Premium 100% rated.

The DWB UL also counts with two levels of short circuit interrupting capacity, and common1)
internal accessories that simplify field installation and minimize inventory variations.

Auxiliary Switches and Alarm Switches
The auxiliary switch and alarm switch have the function to signal remotely the status of circuit breakers power contacts.
There are 3 types of switches available:

BC Auxiliary Switch (Auxiliary Contact Block)

JJ 
Indicates the main contacts status open (OFF) / closed (ON) through a changeover
contacts (SPDT or form C contact)

AL Alarm Switch (Alarm Contact Block)

JJ Indicates circuit breakers trip due to overload, short-circuit, shunt trip or undervoltage-trip
release conditions through a changeover contact (SPDT or form C contact)
JJ The contact opens when the circuit breaker is reset

JJ Offers provisions for audio or visual indication of the under the conditions described above

BCAL
Ensemble comprised of an auxiliary switch + alarm switch The BCAL switch makes

Using BC and AL Switches

BC, AL and BCAL switches already come with built-in terminal blocks. These terminal blocks accept wires of 20 to 16 AWG
(0.5 to 1.5 mm2) and tightening torque of 6.9 lb.in (0.8 N.m).

Internal Accessories
Shunt and Undervoltage Release
Voltage releases function to trip remotely the circuit breaker. They are often used for remote emergency stop purpose.

BD Shunt Release
JJ 
When energized by a pulse or maintained signal of voltage, the shunt release trips the
circuit breaker (trip position).
The shunt release works from 70 to 110% of the rated voltage (0.70 x Un <Ue <1.1 x Un)
JJ 
This release features a device to keep it not energized after the tripping pulse

BS Undervoltage Release
JJ 
Trips the circuit breaker when the voltage drops below 35% of the rated voltage (Ue
<0.35 x Un)

When voltage is between 35 to 70% of the rate voltage, it may open the circuit breaker
(0.35 x Un <Ue <0.7 x Un)

After the operation of BS release, circuit breaker can only be closed if supply voltage is

Using BD and BS Releases
