Admission to the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk University

for the Autumn Semester of the 2014/15 Academic Year

Dear Mr/Ms,

It is my pleasure to inform you that you have met the admission requirements for Bachelors degree
studies at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University. You have been admitted to full-time studies so
that you can pursue a Bachelors degree in English Language and Literature, within the Bachelors
degree programme Philology, beginning in the Autumn Semester of the 2014/2015 academic year.

The Faculty of Arts Admissions Committee has recommended that you be admitted to the above-
mentioned field of study, provided you can demonstrate that you have completed your secondary
school education with a maturita or its equivalent by the date of your official enrolment, when you
will be presented with your official admission document.

In order to receive your official notification of admission and be enrolled in the Faculty, you must
present yourself in person at the Department of English and American Studies of the Faculty of
Arts (Gorkho 7, 3rd Floor) on Monday, 15 September 2014 at 11:00 a.m. If at that time it is
determined that you have met all requirements for enrolment set forth by law and by the Dean of the
Faculty of Arts, you will receive your official notification of admission and will forthwith be enrolled
in the first semester of the above-mentioned field of study.

Please be sure to bring the following items with you on the day of your enrolment:
Your passport
A certified/notarized copy of your secondary school diploma
Official recognition of equivalency for your secondary school education
A completed Enrolment Form

At the official enrolment, you will be asked to sign a contract between yourself and the Faculty of Arts
concerning the conditions of your studies at Masaryk University. You will also receive an invoice for
your autumn semester tuition fees and instructions regarding their payment, as well as information
regarding the issuance of your student identification card (ISIC).

If you are unable to come to the Department in person on that date, it is possible to arrange a different
date with your designated Studies Adviser (see below) or to use a Power of Attorney proclamation to
authorize another person to act as your proxy (agent) in this process. The Power of Attorney must
clearly state that the person acting as your proxy is authorized to carry out all necessary acts linked to
the admission and enrolment processes. This proxy must have all of the relevant documentation with
them, including one Power of Attorney statement authorizing him/her to enrol you in the Faculty of
Arts of Masaryk University and another Power of Attorney statement authorizing him/her to receive
the password that you will need to access the Masaryk University Information System. The relevant
Power of Attorney forms are attached to this letter.

The determination of equivalency of secondary school education is carried out by regional authorities
in the Czech Republic.
Further information can be found via http://www.muni.cz/study/recognition?lang=en.

If at the date and time specified above you do not provide evidence of having been granted the
required degree, you cannot be officially admitted to the study programme, and you will receive an
official notification of your denial of admission. If you (or your designated proxy) fail to appear in
person to receive your official notification of admission to studies on the date mentioned above, you
will be denied admission for failing to meet the necessary conditions.

If you have any questions regarding your enrolment or other information in this letter, please contact
Mr Tom Hanzlek (hanzalek@phil.muni.cz), who has been designated as your Faculty Studies
Adviser.

Sincerely yours,

prof. PhDr. Milan Pol, CSc.
