businesses. The main products ingredient-Soya as health boosting
as it is further made the business competitive. The component and

demand of the industries evolve our offering of delight and took our
business a step higher compared to todays line-up of coffee and
tea shops. It pillars the future of health drinks mixed with all-time
favorites drink. Moreover, the feeling that we want to give to our
customer-the home and comfort able atmosphere would generally
be a plus to what we want and where we want to be in the industry.

WEAKNESSES - As the formation process occurred to our

business TaHome is endanger of complexity of management. Being
a partnership entity could make the administration of the company
decentralized and the challenge for us is to handle our human
resources well. Another problem is that the various products would
require recipes that would satisfy the cravings of the customers,
and experimentations might happen that could actually waste some
of our capital.

OPPORTUNITIES - As the research and development occurs to

our company, we want to be focused on making the home-brand of
business. The evolution and innovation of our business will
integrate to giving the home-vibe and bringing delight through the
food that we make and sell. Aside from focusing on the shops, our
products could be traded and be packed like a manufacturing
company would once the product experimentations has been
materialized and yield a good one. Another privilege that we could
maximize is the lack of shops around urban areas in Metro Manila,
though we already have our initial location, for coffee and tea
shops, expanding is necessary and expected.

THREATHS - The main threat for us is piracy and concept theft. We

have this unique brand and without any assurance of the
experimentations our concept could be stolen. However, with the
original recipes we try to have, it is would not be possible if we
apple for patent. Moreover, we fear that the existing business would
easily dominate over our newborn one. Knowing that they have
been in the business for a longer period and more experienced.

IV. Management Summary

In order for a business to operate efficiently and effectively,

also to attain its goals, either small or large companies, managers
must be able to engage in different basic activities which are
divided into five categories namely, Planning, Organizing, Staffing,
Leading and Controlling.

PLANNING

Planning is a management process concerned with defining

goals for companys future direction and determining on the mission
and resources to achieve those targets. To meet the goals,
managers may develop plans such as business and marketing
plans.

TaHome constructs and defines first their mission, vision and

goals and objectives in putting up a taho business. Next, the
partners determined the essential courses of action which will be

very important in attaining its goals. The first thing that they have
done is to identify what products and services are in demand
nowadays to introduce in the market. The partners had come up to
a decision of putting a taho business since it is an all-time favorite
of most of the Filipino which is not just delicious and yummy but
also healthy in our body. Moreover, in order for the customers to be
attracted, TaHome will introduce taho an innovative way which will
give the said product a new image that will be loved by the
generation today. Then, the entrepreneurs will decide as to where
will be the site of the business. Last but definitely not the least step,
after that products are now well-defined, the partners set up now
the strategies on how these courses of action being maintained.

ORGANIZING

After accomplishing the first process which is planning,

organizing comes next. Organizing is a systematic process of
structuring, integrating, coordinating task goals, and activities to
resources in order to attain objectives. In this phase, TaHome
management determines the division of work according to the
needs per department and provides job description and
specification of their employees or staffs. Running and putting up a
business will not be successful if the man power is not enough in
order to meet its customers demands. In this part of management
process, TaHome management decides on how many and what
kind of people they will be needing to meet its goals and then
recruits, selects, and trains the right people. The partners also do

several interviews, encouragements through pep talks and

trainings.

Tahome has decided that their front liners will be 2 stockmen

and 8 staffs which are composed of 2 cooks, 2 cashiers, and 4
service crews. TaHome operates from Monday to Saturday, ten
oclock in the morning until nine oclock in the evening so, there will
be 2 overlapping shifts: morning and afternoon shift. The shifts will
be from 9 am until 7 pm and 12nn to 10 pm respectively.

LEADING

Leading is another basic function within the management

process. It is an important tool that a manager must do since
he/she needs to provide the guidance that the employees need to
perform their tasks accurately. Manager also uses his/her influence
to motivate employees to achieve organizational goals.

In the case of Tahome, we will be promoting an open line of

communication within the company. This is to promote a good and
healthy relationship within the business. Using the democratic style
of leadership, we in Tahome, believes that we can encourage our
subordinates to be critical and be able to solve minimal day-to-day
troubles. We will also be having seminars, pep talks and meetings
at regular intervals done to encourage, develop their skills and
motivate employees and staff.

CONTROLLING

College of Business and Accountancy

Controlling is an ongoing process. It involves monitoring

employees activities, determining whether the organization is on
target toward its goals, and making correction as necessary in
order for the company to have an effective control function.

In our case, there will be performance appraisals for

employees and staffs held at random dates during the year. These
appraisals are done to improve companys productivity, to asses an
employees or staffs performance against the companys goals, to
let the staff or employee know as to what areas they lack in and
suggest things that they can do in order to improve those areas.
For the type of appraisal, we will be using the combination of
traditional and self-appraisal. According to www.inc.com, the self-
appraisal is used in the performance appraisal process to
encourage staff members to take responsibility for their own
performance by assessing their own achievements or failures and
promoting self-management of development goals. It also prepares
employees to discuss these points with their manager. It may be
used in conjunction with or as a part of other appraisal processes,
but does not substitute for an assessment of the employee's
performance by a manager. From the same source, In a traditional
appraisal, a manager sits down with an employee and discusses
performance for the previous performance period, usually a single
year. The discussion is based on the manager's observations of the
employee's abilities and performance of tasks as noted in a job
description.

Moreover, we will also be setting budgets for semi-annual

operations. This budget will be set by the management particularly
the Accounting and Finance Department. The predetermined
budget for the half year is, P200, 000.00. This amount will then be
allocated to the cost of inventories to be purchased, the monthly
salaries and allowances and other utilities expense. This budget is
exclusive of what has been declared as the starting inventory
amount.

TaHomes Organization structure is regulated by the owners

of the company itself. The owners assigned Mr. Christian Lleva, one
of the owners, to be the Head Managing partner and also as the
Administrative Manager. His role is to support operations by
supervising staff; planning, organizing, and implementing
administrative systems. His total compensation is P10, 000.00.
Under the Administrative Manager, there are three different
departments who will help the company to run smoothly and
effectively, and these are the Accounting and Finance Department,
Marketing Department and Operations Department. On the other
hand, there are two sub departments under Operations
Department; the Personnel and Purchasing Department.
There are four departments, and each department is
supervised by different managers. In the Accounting and Finance
Department, their duty is to be responsible for recording and
reporting the cash flows, both in and out, of a company. It is
important that the individuals in this department have a wide range
of knowledge regarding accounting and budgeting. It is headed by
Ms. Christine Coloma, Accounting Manager, and her total
compensation is also P10, 000.00. Under the Accounting Manager
