Exceeding standards group: Students will be given a recording sheet in which they must think of a different food that can be eaten on
Thanksgiving instead of turkey. The students give three reasons for why we should eat these foods instead of eating turkey. Students will
also be asked to share how they think the turkeys feel on the night before Thanksgiving.
Meeting standards group: Students will be given a recording sheet in which they must share three different foods that should be eaten
on Thanksgiving instead of turkey. The students will also be asked to share how they think the turkeys feel on the night before
Thanksgiving. The students will discuss their reasoning for why we should eat a different food instead of turkey on Thanksgiving with the
paraprofessionals and other staff members in the room.

5. ADAPTATIONS AND ACCOMMODATIONS (During CL I and II, indicate which individual children need adaptation or
accommodation.)
Exceeding standards group: Students will be asked to think of a food that should be eaten instead on Thanksgiving, and must provide
three reasons why we should said food instead of turkey. The emphasis is placed on the students providing reasons to support their
opinion.
Meeting standards group: Students will be asked to think of three different foods that should be eaten instead of turkey. The students in
this group will not be asked to provide their reasoning for why we should eat their suggested foods instead of turkey. The stem of the
sentence will be provided only in the first box on the worksheet, and they will be responsible to writing the stem along with their
suggestions in the other two boxes. The students will discuss their reasoning for why we should eat a different food instead of turkey on
Thanksgiving with the paraprofessionals and other staff members in the room.
Approaching standards group: Students will be asked to think of three different foods that should be eaten on Thanksgiving instead of
turkey. The students in this group will not be asked to provide their reasoning for why we should eat their suggested foods instead of
turkey. The stem of the sentence will be provided in each of the three boxes. The students will discuss their reasoning for why we should
