To Whom It May Concern:

I am interested in a attaining a teaching position in schools that make technology a

priority in the classroom. Today technology is at the forefront of our culture providing a
wealth of information for students and opportunities to learn sans the traditional
textbook, which confines learning to the classroom. There is also an abundance of
technology - software and hardware - to make teaching innovative and learning
interactive and meaningful. The opportunity to guide students through 21st Century
learning is exciting.

As a veteran educator, I continue to look for new and exciting activities to enhance
learning, such as technology blogs that provide ideas for adding technology into the
classroom across the curriculum. Finding the technology that fits well in a particular
grade level or learning situation is a challenge I embrace with passion.

I have a great deal of technology training. In addition to the trainings I attend, I am often
asked to present technology-related professional development at building- and district-
level professional development meetings. I have been an attendee and a presenter at
the Hot Springs Technology Institute from 2012 to 2016. During the 2015-16 school year,
I wrote a Professional Growth Plan involving technology in the classroom. Twenty staf
members worked on this plan, during which I taught monthly classes to ensure staf
members received their professional development quota. I have also mentored novice
teachers using the Pathwise mentoring system; I am now trained as a mentor using
AIMM, the current mentoring system used.in the state of Arkansas.

After doing research, I am excited to be implementing new inovations in my classroom. I

hope to encorporate flexible seating to give learners a comfortable learning
environment. I am also planning to teach my class how to use a growth mindset to turn
I cant into I can. Finally, I will be implementing Genius Hour once a week to allow
students to work on a topic of their choice. This will work well with the Literacy
Standards for research.

I appreciate your time and look forward to speaking with you in the future regarding a
position at your school.
Sincerely,
Kelly L. Shuffield
