Find the co-ordinates of the points where the lines meet the y-axis and find area of the triangle
formed .

Que 2 : Abdul travels 300 Km by train and 200 km by taxi. It takes him 5 hours 30 minutes. If
he travels 260 km by train and 240 km by taxi, he takes 6 minutes longer. Find the speed of the
train and that of taxi.

Q1. Why is a series arrangement not used for connecting domestic electrical appliances in a
circuit?
Q2.How much current will an electric bulb draw from 220V source if the resistance of the bulb
is 1200 ohm? If in place of bulb, a heater of resistance 100 ohm is connected to the sources,
calculate the current drawn by it.
Q3. A 9 ohm resistance is cut into three equal parts and connected in parallel. Find the
equivalent resistance of the combination.
Q4. An electric iron has a rating of 750W, 220V. Calculate the
(i) current flowing through it, and
(ii) its resistance when in use.
Q5. A piece of wire of resistance 20 ohm is drawn out so that its length is increased to twice its
original length. Calculate the resistance of the wire in the new situation.
