Course Description
This module contains information and suggested learning activities on Computer Hardware
Servicing NC II. It includes the following competencies: enumerate/discuss computer
systems parts and its functions, plan and prepare for installing computer system, and
develop/test computer network.

It consists of 3 learning outcomes. Each learning outcome contains learning activities


supported by each instructional sheet. Upon completion of this module, report to your teacher
to assess your achievement of knowledge and skills requirement of this module. If you pass
the assessment, you will be given a certificate of completion.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
LO1. Enumerate and discuss computer system parts and its functions.
LO2. Plan and prepare for installing computer system.
LO3. Develop and test computer network
Each of these LOs addresses the Degree Graduate Outcomes as follows:
Identify various I/O components and connectors.
Identify the major components of a PC system.
Define how these components work.
Understand the popular OS Features
Learn to install MS-Win98
Learn to install MS WinXP
Identify various types of computer network.
Actual developing of computer network and cabling.
Test computer networks.

Grading System
To pass this course, one must accumulate at least ______ through the course
requirements discussed above. The grade that a student can obtain through each
requirement is shown below.
Lec Gra = (Q*40%)+(CS*10%)+(E*50)
Lab Gra = (Q*40%)+(CS*10%)+(E*50)
TermGrade = (LecGra*60%)+(LabGra*40%)
SemGrade=(Prelim*30%)+(Midterm*30)+(Finals*40%)

Aside from the major course output above, this course has one other summative
assessment: a cumulative final exam. In addition, there are formative assessments of two
