Instructional Students get on a computer or mobile devices to access studentvue to

1. Have students use a report card with the most recent/up to date
grades, or have students use computers or mobile devices to
access studentvue to look at their most recent grades.
2. Give students scratch paper.
3. Have students take out a pen or pencil.
4. Give students the GPA calculator sheet which shows the amount
an all year class weighs and the amount a semester class
weighs.
5. Have students tally up data and come up with their final
estimated GPA.
6. Based on their findings, have students write three academic and
three personal goals.
7. Then have students who would like to share with the class what
their goals are and how they will achieve those goals.
8. Lastly make sure students keep track of their progress at the end
of each marking period.

Accommodation Students who feel uncomfortable doing this activity due to any reason may
s, opt to do another activity.
If necessary

Closure Activity Students must come up with ways to achieve their goals made. Then get into
small groups and discuss with the group members their ways on achieving
their goal. Students shouldnt be afraid to offer advice to other group
members on ways they might think a student can achieve their goal.

Follow-Up/ Write a paragraph reflection on what their estimated GPA means to them.
Homework Students are free to say if they like/dislike their current estimated GPA and
why? What could they do to improve that GPA or maintain the GPA. Any
thoughts or feelings involving the estimated GPA calculated in class.
REFLECTION The students were able to make goals that they felt were achievable,
(TO BE COMPLETED although most students are proud of what they accolmished some may feel
AFTER YOU TEACH)
embarrassed or ashamed so try to be more confidential.
