Reflection Paper: 1st and 2nd Winner of

Quisumbing Escandor Film Festival

Without a doubt, both of the films deserved the recognition that they

received(1). Santigwar tackles the existence of faith healing or locally

known as Santigwar while Limang Libo shows how money affects on ones

health specifically in giving birth(2).

Santigwar made me realized how important education and

knowledge in medicine is(3). The Mother both lacking them, believing the

Santigwar can save her child, lead to her childs death due to several

infection(4). What makes it worse is when the father tried to save his child,

the hospital in their place doesnt have any doctors present at that time(5).

In Limang Libo, what I realize is that not everyone can afford their medical

needs and others will try to get their needs by doing crimes(6).

To summarize, there are many factors in a persons health just like

accessibility of the place, knowledge, information, money, availability of

equipments, medicine, etc(7). Government plays a big role in the health of

the citizens but doesnt mean they should do all the work(8). Philippines

need people wholl make a change for the sake of everyones health(9).
