Values Education is the process that gives young people an initiation into values, giving
knowledge of the rules needed to function in this mode of relating to other people, and
to seek the development in the student a grasp of certain underlying principles, together
with the ability to apply these rules intelligently, and to have the settled disposition to do
so. Some researchers use the concept Values Education as an umbrella of concepts
that includes moral education and citizenship education. Themes that values education
can address to varying degrees are character, moral development, religious
education, spiritual development, citizenship education, personal development, social
development and cultural development. Values Education is a long-term standard that
helps a person determine how they should approach a situation or person, which makes
it an important component of determining how the future culture interacts and acts. My
original understanding about values education, it helps a person or a student to decide
what is right and wrong, and it also help how to interact and acts. Values are taught first
at home with our parents, so at home we begin to develop awareness. In realization
Values Education can be define in three categories which is Body, Soul and Spirit. The
Body is a faculty or it has a physical power to sense and find pleasure or great
happiness. The Soul is the principle of thought, immaterial aspect or essence of a
human being, that which confers individuality and humanity, often considered being
synonymous with the mind or the self, it is a human action. The Spirit is the Author of
Love. It is the principle of conscious life, in humans, animating the body or mediating
between body and soul. Values Education is a set of practices that may encourage
particular forms of awareness in students, forms conductive to the conscious motivation
and regulation of learning, and also to freedom and transcendence in life more
generally. Whatever we put our attention on is attracted to us and is increased in our
world. If we do nothing to curb our destructive desires, life becomes increasingly difficult
for us to control. If we develop discernment and self-awareness, then we can distinguish
between what is beneficial or destructive that we are attracting into our lives. Finally, we
need courage to take the next step toward wholeness by eliminating our negative
desires that attract chaos into our lives.

The Family is a human social group whose members are bound together by bond of
blood ties and mental relationship. The Family entails mutual expectation of rights and
obligations that are prescribed by religion, enforced by law, and observed by the group
of members. Accordingly, the family members share certain mutual commitments.
These pertain to identify and provision, inheritance and counsel, affection for the young
and security for the aged, and maximization of effort to ensure continuity of the family.
Family relationships in Islam are just of the great blessings of Allah Almighty on us.
Which a Muslim is encouraged to enjoy freely. Family is considered a corner stone of
whole society in Islam. Being a complete social institution, when we say Family, by it we
mean all relations, husband, wife, children and parents
The Prophet (SWT) said, The best of you is the best to his family and I am the
best amongst you to my family Tirmidhi, IbnMaajah.
In this part of Social Research (Professor) I interviewed one of the best professors in
our department which is Mr. Lim. I asked him a few question. First I asked him about
why he teaches? He teach because he want to produced more product that can take
good care of the next generation. What is his observation about the character of his
students? He answered that some of the students dependent on their own, and some
students are complaining but they do not see their end, and some of them dont like to
read books even if he gave the assignment they will just go to the internet and look for
the answer, thats why the younger generation right now are comparable than the older
generation. Then I asked about the teaching method. And lastly I asked him about his
sacrifices as a professor. He answered about adjustment of the learning of the students
and time is the most important. And He said to be a good student, the student must
maintain his or her goodness show it to others, this is a good example of Values.
A value education is presented that synthesizes the values clarification and moral
development approaches. An explanation is provided of the process and verbal
approaches to values clarification. It describes what occurs during instructional activities
in regard to values clarification and moral reasoning behavior as aspects of affective
development. Values can either be transmitted or acquired. It is anything that we put
importance on. It comprises all the behaviors, attitudes and cultures one is into.
Sometimes, we are confused if values are how we deal with people but realistically
speaking, it is how we deal with our environment- how we view things in or with its
realize how important we are as a rational being. Human as rational individuals has the
capacity to think logically or to think dependently and feel. Feeling is being able to
express his emotions and reaction in any form of situation. Values Education helps us to
construct self-identity and self-perspective. It is more of Self- Concept. When we talk of
self-concept, it is how we view ourselves in a more justified way. Sometimes, we lack
self-esteem and confidence because we have this perspective of being down. As a
thinking being, we should know how to control and modify our feelings. At this very
moment, we should already know who we really are. Values also deal with how we give
importance to our environment as well as education, thats why we always pay attention
to learning styles ad models. My Personal Reflection is every individual has a set of his
or her own personal values that dictates how he or she reacts to situations in life and
these values also define who he or she is. Values are significant and lasting viewpoints
and principles shared by most people in society in regard to what is morally right or
wrong. Some examples of values are integrity, loyalty, honesty, virtue, love,
selflessness, and zeal. Values can sometimes sway an individuals actions and can act
as general rules for every circumstance. Individuals in society will often have his or her
own set of values that serve as an individual blueprint that defines who he or she is and
is the influencing factor in how he or she lives, behaves, speaks, and believes. My core
values are honesty, love, trust, spirituality or prayerful life, family, accomplishment,
respect, and perseverance. My most important value is family, no matter where an
individual is or what an individual goes through in life I believe that family should always
be first. Every family has ups and downs and I firmly believe that a family should always
help each other and should not become enablers. The second most important value to
me is love; a person must first love his or herself before others can love him or her. I
love myself first and my love for others is very true and does not falter if someone does
me wrong. I truly believe an individual can still love a person if the person hurts him or
her in any kind of way, but the individual can love that person from a distance. My faith
is very strong in my life because without God I would not be here and I know that his
love will take me further than what man can. I also believe in honesty because if I am
honest with people they will trust me. One cannot have honesty without trust. The other
values that I have added to my value system are time and confidentiality or absolute
secrecy.
