Lieutenant Governor to host Ramadan Iftar,

keynote speaker Doug Saunders
May 29, 2017. Her Honour the Hon. Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, will host an
interfaith Ramadan Iftar tomorrow at Queens Park. This will be the first Iftar hosted in the Lieutenant
Governors Suite.

8:27 p.m. Keynote by Doug Saunders, Globe and Mail international affairs columnist
8:51 p.m. Breaking of fast
9:05 p.m. Dinner

The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell will host 40 people in the suite for an interfaith Ramadan Iftar.
The keynote speaker will be Globe and Mail international affairs columnist, Doug Saunders.

I am pleased to host this interfaith celebration marking the early days of a holy month for over half a
million Ontarians. May thoughtful and peaceful engagement be our gift to the future and our legacy to
the world at large.
