Shivajee is one of the leading figures of the new generation of Indian independent
filmmakers. The multiple award winning feature film Frozen (2007) managed to
break into the monopolized distribution system of Bollywood and attracted
audiences . His upcoming feature film The Untold Tale, was selected in the project
development section of Cannes Film Festivals Cinefondation program LAtelier in
2012. His films were screened and awarded at various prestigious international film
festivals like Rotterdam, Toronto, Granada, Busan, London, Palm Springs, San
Francisco and Vladivostok. He was in the International Jury at the Vladivostok
International Film Festival in Russia, September 2010.
TRIPARNA BANERJEE
Triparna grew up in a culturally vibrant space; experimenting with amateur theatre,
training in classical dance and engaging in literary classics which helped her acquire
artistic and creative skills early on. She has co-written the feature film One More
(2011), winner of Pan Star Award at Asian Project Market at Busan International
film. She is also the co-writer of The Untold Tale, the first Indian feature to be
selected for Latelier du Cinefondation at Cannes Film Festival in 2012. Presently,
she is developing her first feature film as writer/ director and co-owns Carpe diem
Residency as a Curator.
APARNA KOMPELLA
GOPALAKRISHNA AB
Gopal studied Communications Management from MICA, Ahmedabad, and started
his career as an Assistant Director on the movie I Am(2011), directed by Onir.
Apart from working on three feature films as an assistant director, he has
idependently directed several documentaries, Ad films and short films. His short
film Sheher-e-Ghazal, based on the Gujarat riots, won him an award for the best
director at an International short film festival. Gopal has taught film making as an
elective course at various institutions and organizations. He is also a trained actor,
who acted on stage and screen, and teaches acting for theatre and film
SHEETALA BHAT
Sheetala Bhat is an avid reader, enthusiastic actress, and reclusive writer. She hold an MA in
English Literature from Manipal Centre for Philosophy and Humanities. Her first
book titled Performing Self/Performing Gender, which studies the autobiographies of women
performers in Colonial India, is getting published by Manipal University Press.
Every time youve watched a movie scene glorifying stalking and cringed; all the
times you saw the film industry portraying a woman falling in love after the hero
basically corners her into it; every line, attitude and gesture that has made you
want to scream - knowing that these ideas are harmful, surely you must have
felt an urge to do something about it.
