Concept & description of the project

Emerging from my own research, practice, collaborations as inter-media
artist, working in the field of Stage-based Interaction, I propose a series
of artistic research meetings in 2016, under the name of
INTERMEDIA BODY.
At the border between body & media, in the field of performing arts,
practitioners from different artistic fields will meet to share and exchange
ideas, experience and knowledge about the work process during the
realization of their projects in the context of the contemporary art world.
The event would give the possibility to already finished and future
projects to be presented in a format of public talks/ presentations,
followed by Q&A sessions.
The participating artists will be also welcomed to showcase and test
prototypes or completed interactive platforms, where public
participation is required.
All activities would have photo & video documentation. A short
4th Skin
Intermedia dance performance by Mihaela Kavdanska &
documentary with interviews of the participating artists & public,
Dolma Jover, 2014 would be edited.
The main topic for the 2016 artistic research meetings would be the
observation of the inter-media oneness between visual/ sound art &
performing arts, while different digital technologies are involved to
offer a real-time expeirence.
The most important outcome of this artistic research focused event,
would be the knowledge and direct experience created & documented
at the meeting point between artists.

The INTERMEDIA BODY artistic research meetings are supposed

to happen in the context of larger events. The first meeting in Linz, is
proposed to be part of Ars Electronica Festival (September
8-12.2016) or Tanzhafen Festival (October, 20-25).
The second one, would take place in Barcelona at the Choreoscope
Festival (November, 7-12). The third one is proposed to be part of
event series at the National Center of Dance, October, 2016 in
Bucharest.
This events format is spread over 2 days and includes up to
6 presentations per day, followed by discussions on proposed topics,
from the perspective of the participating artists.
Here Im proposing several wide topics for dialogue, which are
directions in my artistic research with the title: The body as interface
for inter-media oneness in Stage-based Interaction.

Topics:
Inter-media oneness in Stage-based interaction
The human body as interface for interaction and tool for audio-visual
expession
Role of the media as a digital performer on stage.
Transformative experiences during the interdisciplinary work process
in Stage-based interaction.
The transculturality of the body.
AR & VR in theater performances.
New approaches in the creation of sound, visual and performance at
inter-media contexts. Birdville, an intermedia dance performance by
Simona Deaconescu, 2014
The participating artists would be invited to propose other topics of
discussion in closer relation to their own practice.
The invited participants are a group of established & emerging,
international and local artists from Austria, Romania, Spain, Bulgaria,
Colombia. Part of them are based in Linz & Vienna.
