This kit contains four lessons no. 33, 34, 35 and 36. Lesson no 33,
35 & 36 are in dialogue form and lesson no. 34 is a live commentary of a
cricket match.
In lesson no. 33 ' we are going to learn the use of subject
+ structure. e.g. Gopal has fever.
In lesson no. 34, 35, we are going to learn present continuous tense.
e.g.
I am going.
We are going.

In lesson no 36, we are going to learn future tense for e.g.

I will go to Bombay Tomorrow.


You will go to Bombay Tomorrow.

/ LESSON 33
Lesson No. 33, ' ' is a conversation between doctor & patient.
In this lesson we are going to learn certain sentence structures in which
subject is followed by '' case-ending. In these structures, the verb agrees
with the object in gender & number.
If there is no object in the sentence the verb will be always masculine
singular e.g.

Cultural Notes :

(i) C.G.H.S. = Central Government Health Scheme

Under this C.G.H.S., the central govt. employees are given a facility to
get treatment from the govt. hospitals. A certain amount of money is
deducted per month from the salary of the employee for this facility.
(ii) Prescription Slip
Doctors generally refer a patient to some Govt. hospital in their
prescription slip.
Grammatical Notes:

(a) Note the usage of ' to denote span of time.


i) He has fever since yesterday.
ii) I have not eaten anything for two days.
(b) Note the usage of '' in the sense of due to because of etc.
i)
Leaves have dried due to sun.
ii) He died of Cholera.
iii) The boy is afraid of the dog.
c) Subject + Construction:
Compare the sentences given in the following pairs.
i) Gopal is ill.
Gopal has cough.
ii) Mother is worried
Mother has worry.
d) The pronouns have the following dative forms.

Only ending masculine nouns change before / not others.
' is used for denoting:-
A person who does something involuntarily (such as like, dislike,
remember, be injured, be offended, suffer, feel, enjoy, receive, happen to
have, to meet, to know, to see, to do something under compulsion,
requirement, necessity, obligation etc.
VERBAL AGREEMENT

The verb in these sentence patterns agrees in number and gender


with the object which is not followed by a post position case ending ( )

Grammatical Notes:

In present continuous tense the action is still going on or the action is


in progress. The Progressive aspect (he is going) is expressed with the help

The game of cricket:

Lesson No. 36 ' ' is a conversation between teacher & his
students. All of them are arranging a picnic and are discussing what they
are going to do in the picnic & deciding what dish each one of them will

- It is a man-made pond situated in Faridabad near Delhi. It is
