Dear Parent/Guardian

The high school health education classes will soon begin the reproductive health unit of our
curriculum. Starting May 15th we will cover relationships, reproduction, pregnancy, childbirth,
family planning, STDs, HIV & AIDS and caring for your reproductive health. The curriculum is
part of our state-adopted text and was developed with AHISD parents, teachers and
administrative collaboration through our districts School Health Advisory Council (SHAC).

If you have any questions regarding our reproductive health unit please feel free to contact me
via email or phone. If prefer your child to opt out of this unit please sign and return the bottom
portion.

understand the realities, the costs of being a parent and explore if,
when and under what circumstances you would like to become a
parent in the future.
Ansalzy the influence of laws, policies and practices on health-related
issues.
