Veiled Sentiment

-Ma. Grace Raquel R. Ormeneta

As deep as the Pacific Ocean

Hidden like a treasure of thousand years ago
Like the mystery of the gold pot at the end of a rainbow
Its a white pearl covered by the hardest bivalve

As beautiful as the lilies in the field

It blooms in spring and hides during winter
The fragrance of its petals disappears
Snowflakes inhabits the entire sphere

I want to pick the most beautiful flower in the field

Touch its petals and feel its essence
But picking it means ending its life
Letting it wither and lose its beauty

The lake reflects the beauty of the sky at twilight

Seems like the glory of heaven fell down to earth
But when a withered leaf fall to it from a branch,
Youll realize that its just a counterfeit

Perhaps nature reflects every mans sentiment

Like a new leaf that blooms like hope
A river that flows like love-
Sometimes calm, sometimes raging.

As brave as wolf that face its foe

With fierce eyes and piercing fangs,
I need strength as strong as this,
To boldly defeat the fear within
But in silent night when all are serene
I am a wolf that cries on a plain,
On a blue moon with stars so vast
No one sees the sorrow in my guise

There was once a child chasing a firefly

Amazed by the glow of its belly
The firefly fluttered high until it waned.
But the child waited, hoping to still see its flare

On a night time when creatures are cheeping

She ran towards the glowing tree
Amazed by what she saw
A throng of fireflies that inhabits the tree

A firefly hovered towards the child

Looping and flapping with its glaring light
The grandeur of a thing is best left untouched
Preserving its elegance and purity

Perhaps nature reflects every mans sentiment

Like a liberate firefly with glaring light
Like a wolf that cries in a silent night
Hiding its agony with fiery audacity

Would this be the time to end the winter?

Would this be the time for the snowflakes to leave the sphere?
Would this be the time for the lilies to bloom?
When would the right time be?

Would this be the time to discover the ancient treasure?

Would this be the time to encounter the gold pot at the end of a
rainbow?
Would this be the time to break the hardest bivalve of the pearl?
Would this be the right time?

Would this be the time for the wolf to be calm at night?

Would this be the time for the child to forever witness a fireflys
light?
Or forever free this flaring creature so minute?
Would this be the right time?

Its now time to listen to your heart,

Instead of listening to the whisper of the wind
Its now time to look your reflection on the lake,
Instead of looking the skys reflection to it

As I look down, it reflected a bride afraid to remove her veil

Scared to show the blues in her eyes
Fear still lives within her guise
Concealing everything she feels

Is it well to bury the pure gem in the subterranean?

Is it just fine to throw the pearl in the deepest ocean?
Is it just fine to remove the veil?
Or forever let this sentiment be veiled?
