1. I have to finish three-fifths of a book (that has 160 pages) in 4 days. Find the percentage of the total
pages I have to read each day. How many pages does this amount to?

2. It is required that 15% of the price be paid upfront for a particular product, and the remaining be paid
in 5 equal instalments. If my first instalment was Rs. 3400, find the amount paid upfront and also the
total cost of the product.

3. The side of a square is reduced by 10%. Find the percentage decrease in area and perimeter.

4. In a rectangle, the length is reduced by 10% and breadth by 25%. Find the percentage decrease in area
and also express it as ratio :- Old Area : New Area

5. What percent of 2000 is 1500?

6. The cost of a product rises from 1500 to 2000. Find the percentage increase.

7. A student appears for 5 exams. Here are the student's marks in 4 subjects - 86, 91, 93, 94. (Max marks
is 100). What should the minimum marks obtained in the 5th subject be so that the total percentage is at
least 95?

8. You are making pie-chart to represent percentages of 3 different quantities x, y, z. What would be the
angle of the sectors that you make? (Hint: answer would be in terms of x and/or y and/or z.)

9. We have travelled 7.25 km of a 10 km drive. What percentage of the journey have we covered? Also
express the answer in ratio in lowest terms :- Distance covered : Distance yet to be covered.
