Partial Discharge
Screening of Electrical
Asset Offered By Prescon
Electrical systems reliability is of utmost importance for industries and utilities alike. As per NFPA 70B and
IEEE Gold Book insulation failure is number one cause of failure of Electrical assets like cables, switchgear,
motors, generators, AIS/GIS equipment, transformers etc. Failure of these assets can cause prolonged
downtimes and they can be catastrophic as well. For all MV and HV equipment rated 6.6 KV and above,
partial discharge is the major failure mode. Prescon engineering is providing this exclusive service in order to
cater the need of our valued customer

A partial discharge survey is a non-invasive measurement technique that allows problems to be

detected while the equipment remains in service. Using the advanced Doble PDS100 with HFCT/TEV
probe and SDT 270, substations can be surveyed in a short amount of time (typically less than one
day). Highlighted areas can then be investigated in greater detail using more focused on-line
techniques, and problematic areas can be targeted for off-line testing

Find a problem and rectify before

PD surveys are done with equipment in services
needing zero downtime. it results into catastrophic failure.

Nonintrusive and definitely

Any technician can use the tool for screening

without needing much of analytical skills as areNondestructive and does not

needed for doing offline testing particularly offline
