MY DREAM VACATION!

Seoul (Seoul Special City) is the capital and the largest city of South Korea.
With a megacity population of over 10-million, it is also 1 of the largest cities
in the world. Seoul is located on the Han River in the center of the Korean
Peninsula. It is one of the world’s top ten financial and commercial centres.
Seoul is divided into 25 districts.

The stuffs you will find in the markets in Seoul vary from fashion boutiques
to calligraphy to electronics. The largest market in the whole of South
Korea, the Dongdaemun Market, is located there in Seoul. There, you will
mostly find fashion boutiques and some international brand outlets. It also
has shopping malls, where one of them is the Doota Mall. You will also find
Hanbok stores, shoe stores and many food counters. Seoul has a vast array
of skyscrapers too. Some of the major modern landmarks in Seoul include
the N Seoul Tower and the seven-skyscraper residence Tower Palace. The N
Seoul Tower is a communication and observation tower in Namsan Mountain.
It is also the symbol of Seoul. Lotte World is a major recreation complex in
Seoul. It consists of the world’s largest indoor theme park an outdoor
amusement park called “Magic Island”, an artificial island inside a lake linked
by monorail, shopping malls, a luxury hotel, a Korean folk museum, sports
facilities, and movie theaters all in one place. The Namsan Park offers hiking,
recreation and views of downtown Seoul’s skyline. The Seoul Olympic Park in
Songpa-gu, Bangi-dong, was built to host the 1988 Summer Olympics.

Surrounding Seoul is the Gyeonggi-do Province. It is the most populous


province in South Korea. The topography of Gyeonggi Province is divided into
southern and northern areas by the Han River, which flows from east to
west. The area north to the Han River is mainly mountainous, while the
southern area is mainly plain. Gyeonggi Province boasts beautiful nature
stocked with rivers, lakes, mountains, and seas. Its representative rivers are
the Hangang, Imjingang, and Anseongcheon (Stream), which flow into the
Yellow Sea, with Gyeonggi Plain, Yeonbaek Plain and Anseong Plain forming a
fertile field area around the rivers. The Gwangju Mountain Range and the
Charyeong Mountain Range stretch toward China in Gyeonggi Province. For
National Parks within Gyeonggi Province, there is Bukhansan National Park
located in Uijeongbu. For Provincial Parks, there are the Chukryeongsan
Natural Recreation Area, Namhan-sanseong Provincial Park, Gapyeong
Yeoninsan Provincial Park, and Mulhyanggi Arboretum. Besides the listed, the
scenery of well-known mountains including Soyosan of Dongducheon City,
Yongmunsan of Yangpyeong-gun, and Gwanaksan of Anyang•Gwacheon Cities,
along with Hangang and Imjingang are the famous tourism sites of Gyeonggi
Province.

Seoul and Gyeonggi-do have many interesting places and is extremely


suitable for those who love sightseeing and photography. It also allows
people to experience new things which they might not have experienced
before. Usually in winter, you will also find ski villages where you can learn
and practice your skiing skills. It is also best to go when it is about the end
of summer to mid-winter, so that the weather will not be too cold or hot. I
hope that you would visit Seoul and Gyeonggi-do Province as you would enjoy
learning, experiencing, relaxing and having tons of fun!
