Open CNA Tool in OSS:

Right Click Desktop
Administration
Configure GSM Network
Cell
ular Network Administrator
Procedure:
Creation of Planned Area:
Click File
New Area
Planned Area
Enter a Name for JOB
Enter New (will cre
ate Ur Planned Area)
#This Creates a Copy of the Valid Area. Our Planning is made on this Copy.
Selection of Source BSC & Target BSC:
Select the Source BSC (option provided in the selection list)
Go to View
Cells
Internal Cells
All
Select the Target Cells (Using Ct
rl Shift)
Go to Edit
Move Cells
Select the Target Cells (Using Ctrl Shift)
Enter Target BSC (From Selection List)
Move

(Moving starts Creating Cells & Copies Neighbour Relations of both Internal & Ex
ternal
In Planned Area of Target BSC moved cells will show Deleted & in Target BSC it w
ill show New Site Created)
#All this happens in Planned Area without Disturbing Traffic on Sites.
Updating Planned Area Job in Valid Area of Target & Source BSC s:
(i) Select the Target BSC (option provided in the selection list)
Go to File
New Job
Update Job Immediate

(This will update the Planned Job in Valid/Working Area of Target BSC. It will a
lso open Report which will show the proceedings of Updating. The Planned Cells w
ill thus get copied into Valid Area of Target BSC)
#At any point of time if any process stops, after solving the issue by manual in
tervention the Updation Procedure can be carried out again.
#It s always advisable to carry out Updation Process first in Target BSC & carry o
ut the same process in Source BSC to avoid the Risk of Loss of Data.

(ii) Select the Source BSC (option provided in the selection list)
Go to File
New Job
Update Job Immediate

(This will update the Planned Job in Valid/Working Area of Source BSC. It will a
lso open Report which will show the proceedings of Updating. The Planned Cells w
ill thus get deleted from Valid Area of Source BSC)
$ The migration process of RL is thus carried out by first adding up a copy of c
ells in Target BSC & removing their RL from the Source BSC.

Terms:

Source BSC BSC from which cells are to be removed.

Target BSC BSC in which cells are to be added.
Planned Area Copy of Working / Valid Area (similar to No-Operation Area).
Valid Area- Working Area (similar to No Operation Area).
Job- Migration Plan.
Planned Sites Sites to be Migrated/removed from one BSC & to be added up to othe
r BSC.
