Ready, Set, Write!

Writing can be considered aseffortless but at the
same time complicated. It is a mixture of
unequivocal complexities and boundless
possibilities - of iridescent beginnings, sometimes
monochrome endings and most of the time,
technicolor finales.
But writing is akin to magic. When the words
combined in, sometimes, kaleidoscopic sequences or
equally calculated formulas, it can create a thousand
varying scenarios and multitude recurring
memories.

Dear Julian,
February is the birth month of Nanay Jean; your mother, first
teacher, first catechist, #1 fan and best friend. I pray to GOD
that you remain best of friends ever. Before she became
mother to you and wife to me; she was a loving daughter, a
caring sister, an endearing relative, a reassuring friend and an
active lay servant in her parish. She was Lector, Commentator
and Parish Youth Ministry leader when I met her.
Your Nanay Jean is the most unpretentious and generous
woman I met. That is because I have not met Mother Teresa
personally. She is generous with her love to her family, most
especially to you. I am forever grateful to GOD for giving me
your Nanay as my companion in life. Marrying her was the best
decision I made. Her humility keeps me grounded. Her
patience inspires me to persevere. Her faith constantly moves
me to trust GOD more. Her love never fails to remind me the
grace of GOD. Nanay Jean will be the best person to teach you
humility, patience, faith and love.
Difficult pregnancy would be an understatement when she had
you in her womb. She was advised to rest in bed for months.
She had to endure the stringent diet along with regular
monitoring of her blood pressure and sugar. What was
anticipated to be a normal delivery turned out to be an
emergency C-Section birth. 37 weeks and 3 days in pregnancy,
you were in a footling breach position.
Maybe you got excited and you flipped yourself couple of
weeks before due date. Few hours after your Nanay was
brought to Maternity Ward, I fetched you from Nursery and you
stayed in the same room with us.
Nanay Jean nearly gave up breastfeeding but she withstood
the learning pain until she got used to it. You will be turning 3
02 in about a month and you are still being breastfed.
Most often than not, people fear jumbling the words
together, afraid of committing errors and forging rules.
In reality, writing isn't something one should be scared
of because writing can be an avenue to relive moments
before they are forgotten, to take note of feelings one is
too scared to admit, to express one's desire over trivial
or special things or even convey frustrations, define a
status or offer a comforting gesture.
But one thing is certain, everyone can write - it all
depends to the willingness to do it and the courage to
start it. May it be a simple greeting or a wordy
paragraph, it is definitely considered as writing.
Don't be scared to write. Start with hello and end with
goodbye . And then eventually, you can begin with Am I a
rainbow after the rain and conclude with But yet,
repeatedly, over an over again, i stay for you to hear my
plea.
It will take me forever to write down many sacrifices that
your Nanay Jean did for you for the past years. What I
want you to realize is how much Nanay Jean loves you.
Soon, you will have petty disagreements but please dont
let a day pass not to talk about it. Go back to this email, if
needed, and be reminded that Nanay Jean deserves your
love and respect.
p.s.
Nanay Jean was a runner-up in a local beauty pageant in
her youth, before I met her. Dont tell Nanay Jean that I
told you. Yes, your Nanay Jean is Confidently Beautiful
with a Heart.

Summer hangs on the window pane
Flaring and smoky glares reaching the wooden floor.
My fevered body is a profusely sweating steam
Slumped on an idle couch with idle thoughts.
The fan breathes a warm and dry gust of air,

In the daily grind routine at work, especially in the

busy world of young professionals, hearing about the

At first it sounded an ordinary one for me, as I've
been into team buildings many times before, having
worked in a BPO industry.
I am a soldier who has promised to do everything. I have
lived in this life fully knowing that Ill protect my country.
I vowed for loyalty. I fight for my country.
Today, I have claimed many lives and my people have put
their trust in me.
