JOB SUMMARY:

Works under direct supervision and performs shop and field welding works
of steel pipes (chrome & carbon); assumes other duties as assigned by his
immediate superior.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs manual Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Shielded Metal
Arc Welding (SMAW) processes.
Conducts proper cleaning and wire brushing of groove joints prior to start of
welding and slag removal in subsequent weld passes.
Uses proper filler metal sizes for a specific material thickness.
Applies filler metal correctly in accordance with the WPS.
Applies pre-heating when needed for complete moisture removal.
Does weld works requiring sound welds in which applying specific
information in the WPS such as voltage range, current ampere, travel
speed, welding techniques, etc.
Does proper handling and storage of welding consumables.
Repairs defective weldments based on approved procedure.
Ensures that housekeeping is done within the limits of his work area.
Returns his welding rod stubs / unused electrodes.

PLANNING:

Plans work schedule for next day.


Prepares tools and welding consumables needed for next day activity.

ADMINISTRATIVE AND SAFETY:

Follows/abides to promulgated company rules and regulations.


Reports for work on time.
Ensures housekeeping at site.
Completes and returns issued explanation slip.
Practices safety of the trade at work site.
Wears uniforms within company/site premises at all times and correct
usage of personnel protective equipments at the production floor.
