La Culligan Italiana ha nella sua gamma di impianti
destinati alla filtrazione delle acque di piscina, la linea
HMS BASIC e PLUS, filtri a letti filtranti selettivi che si
avvalgono della tecnica esclusiva Culligan FILTER
CLEER.
Questi filtri HMS Culligan permettono razionali e flessibili
installazioni abbinate ad un pratico impiego. Sono
sostanzialmente costituiti da un filtro mono-blocco con
contenitore in vetroresina poliestere rinforzato abbinato
ad un gruppo valvola/e idraulico in materiale
termoplastico
Disponibili nelle versioni Dual Media BASIC e Multi
Media PLUS, differenti nel numero di strati filtranti, e
nelle versioni semiautomatica M ed automatica A, con
portate massime da 11 a 220 m3/h.
Nei modelli HMS BASIC e PLUS dalla versione 11
alla versione 40 previsto il distributore inferiore a
raggiera. Invece per il modello 60 nella versione
BASIC la distribuzione inferiore disponibile con la
piastra Culligan, mentre la versione PLUS
disponibile con la piastra piana.
I filtri HMS sono forniti completi dei minerali di
riempimento: elettropompa e prefiltro devono essere
dimensionati in funzione delle esigenze impiantistiche
e richiesti a parte
PRINCIPI DI FUNZIONAMENTO
I minerali presenti nei letti filtranti dei filtri HMS sono
disposti con una granulometria decrescente dallalto
verso il basso: in alto troviamo i grani con dimensione
pi grossa e pi leggeri, mentre i grani pi fini e leggeri
occupano gli strati inferiori.
Ci, frutto di studi e sperimentazione, consente una
velocit di filtrazione molto superiore a quella dei
comuni filtri a sabbia, garantendo nel contempo
leccezionale qualit dellacqua filtrata ottenuta.
I vari tipi di torpidit presenti nellacqua vengono,
infatti, via via trattenuti se lettivamente dai vari strati
filtranti, arrivando fino alla ritenzione delle sostanze
colloidali ottenuta senza lausilio di flocculanti chimici
e di tutte le particelle di dimensioni superiori a 5
micron (millesimi di millimetro).
CICLI OPERATIVI
I filtri HMS utilizzano un ciclo di funzionamento che
prevede due fasi: SERVIZIO e CONTROLAVAGGIO.

The Culligan Italiana range of pool water filtering
systems includes one line of products, HMS using
beds of selective filtration media, that use a Culligan
exclusive technique FILTER CLEER.
These Culligan HMS filters are rational and flexible in
terms of installation, as well as being practical to use.
They consist essentially of a particulate solid filter in
a housing of reinforced polyester fiberglass with
hydraulic valves assembly made of thermoplastic
material
The Dual Media BASIC and Multi Media PLUS
version is available with different numbers of filter
layers, specified in different sizes for use in
installations handling maximum flow rates between 11

and 220 m /h.
Within models HMS BASIC and PLUS version range
11 to 40 a radial pattern lower distributor has been
provided. On the other hand, within models 60
version BASIC lower distribution is provided by
Culligan plate, within version PLUS by flat plate

The electric pump and prefilter must be sized to suit
the requirements of the system, and ordered
separately.
OPERATING PRINCIPLE
The minerals present in the HMS filter beds are
arranged with the granules decreasing in size from
top to bottom: the largest and heaviest granules are
at the top while the finest and lightest granules are in
the lower layers.
This is the result of study and experimentation, which
allows a filtering speed much higher than that of
ordinary sand filters, at the same time guaranteeing
the exceptional quality of the filtered water obtained.
The various types of turbidity are gradually and
selectively trapped by the different filtering layers;
colloidal substances (without the aid of chemical
flocculants) as well as all particles larger than 5
microns (thousandths of a millimetre) in size are
retained.
OPERATING CYCLES
HMS filters use an operating cycle consisting of two
stages: SERVICE AND BACKWASHING.

Questo ciclo assicurato da una monovalvola ad
azionamento manuale (HMS M, 11/40), o da una
monovalvola a funzionamento automatico (HMS A,
11/40), o da 4 valvole manuali (HMS M, 60/220) o da 4
valvole automatiche azionate da attuatori pneumatici
(HMS A, 60/220).
CARATTERISTICHE
I filtri HMS Culligan si caratterizzano per lesiguo
quantitativo di acqua impiegata per ogni ciclo di
lavaggio, rispetto ai pi comuni filtri a sabbia: solo 10
minuti, circa.
Sia i modelli M che A, dispongono di manometro/i per
verificare le condizioni di lavoro del filtro.
Nei modelli A, possibile lazionamento manuale della
controcorrente.
Nei modelli M da 11 a 40 possibile effettuare il
lavaggio in corrente.

COMPONENTI OPZIONALI
I filtri HMS sono forniti completi di contenitore filtro,
gruppo valvole e minerali di riempimento.
Quali accessori opzionali, Culligan dispone di:
elettropompe autoadescanti in materiale plastico
con prefiltro, od elettropompe in ghisa o bronzo,
da abbinare con prefiltri Culligan in ghisa od
acciaio inox. Le elettropompe Culligan, possono
essere comandate da specifici quadri elettrici
Culligan che ne consentono anche la
programmazione marcia/arresto.
timer PCD CULLIGAN: ununit elettronica, rea-
lizzata per essere utilizzata come programmatore di
fasi sulle linee filtri CULLIGAN automatici per pisci-
ne. Il timer PCD, oltre a comandare lavaggi e servi-
zio dei filtri (sino ad un massimo di 3 filtri), gestisce
il funzionamento ON/OFF delle relative e dedicate
pompe di ricircolo (sino ad un massimo di 3 pom-
pe), nonch i controlli di livello e reintegro vasca.
Analogo per funzione svolta, rimpiazza i timer pro-
grammatori CULLIGAN con motore e pilota HMS (v.
scheda tecnica cat. M00392).

This cycle is ensured by a manually operated
monovalve (HMS M, 11/40), or by an automatically
operated monovalve (HMS A, 11/40), or by 4 manual
valves (HMS M, 60/220) or by 4 automatic valves
operated by pneumatic actuators (HMS A, 60/220).
FEATURES
Culligan HMS filters are characterized by the very
small amount of water used for each washing cycle, in
comparison with the most common sand filters: only
about 10 minutes.
Both M and A models have a pressure gauge to check
the filter working conditions.
In A models, backwash may be controlled manually.
In M models from 11 to 40 rinsing is possible.

OPZIONAL COMPONENTS
HMS filters are supplied complete with the filter
housing, valve assembly and filling minerals.
Culligan offers the following optional accessories:
self-priming electric pumps of plastic material with
prefilter, or cast iron or bronze electric pumps for
use in combination with Culligan cast iron or
stainless steel prefilters. Culligan electric pumps
can be controlled from specific Culligan electrical
control panels, which also include start/stop
programming functions.
CULLIGAN PCD timer: an electronic programmer,
supplied on request, designed for use in conjunction
with CULLIGAN automatic filters for swimming and
leisure pools. In addition to piloting backwash and
normal service of the filters (up to a maximum 3 fil-
ters), the PCD timer controls the ON/OFF operating
cycles of the corresponding recirculation pumps (up
to a maximum 3 pumps), as well as level indication
and pool refill functions. Performing the same func-
tion, it replaces CULLIGAN timer programmers with
motor and controls the HMS (see technical data
sheet cat. M00392).
