ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

First of all, we are grateful to The Almighty God for establishing us to

complete this kind of study.

We would like to express our deep gratitude to Madam Mawarni, my beloved

English Lecturer for her patience, guidance, encouragement and useful critiques of
this study work.

We wish to express our sincere thanks to Tuan Haji Said bin Manap, Principal
of Perak Matriculation College, for providing us with all the necessary facilities.

We place on record, our sincere gratitude to our parents and friends for their
understanding on us in completing our project. I also thank to our respondents of
Perak Matriculation College, who were willing to sacrifice their precious time to
answer our questionnaires.

We also place on our record, our sense of gratitude to one and all who directly or
moderately, have lent their lending hand in this venture.

2
INTRODUCTION
A ) Problem Statement
The Matriculation students go on an outing during weekend. There are two
types of outing, one is for a while and the second is going back home. Outing is
defined as a trip that you go on for pleasures or education, usually with a group of
people and lasting no more than one day.

This project is to determine why KMPK students go out for an outing during
their weekend .A survey was conducted on 30 students of different genders. We
interpreted in tables and graphs to identify what kind of things they do during their
outing. Then we created our study with our objectives in mind. We used convenience
sampling. The questionnaire were distributed to 30 students from different races
(Malays, Chinese, Indians) and courses (PST, PDT and Accounting). The
questionnaires were distributed at random.

B) OBJECTIVES

The objective of our study are as follows :

To investigate KMPK students why they go out on an outing during their

weekend.

To identify the benefit of outing during their weekend.

To find out how much they spend their money during outing

To determine the most preferable place they go during outing

STUDY METHODOLOGY
In the process of carrying out our study, the method that weve used is the
survey methodology. Statistical method is undertaken with a view towards making
statistical inferences about the population being studied, and this depends strongly
on the survey questions used. Surveys provide important information for all kinds of
public information and study fields for example.

Survey methodology can be defined as the study of the sampling of individual

units from a population and the associated survey data collection techniques, such
as questionnaire construction and methods for improving the number and accuracy
of responses to survey.

Then, the only one instrument that weve used is the questionnaire.

The definition of questionnaire is a series of questions asked to individuals to

obtain statistically useful information about a given topics. Besides, it also can be
defined as a study instrument consisting of a series of questions and other prompts
for the purpose of gathering information from respondents.

Retrieved December 12, 2013 from http://en.wikipedia.org/wk/Researsch.design.

Next, the type of question is closed ended questions which is the

respondents answers are limited to a fixed set of responses. Most scales are closed
ended.

There are four main objectives that we need to study. One of them is to
investigate KMPk students why their go out on an outing during their weekend. We
also identify the benefit of outing during their weekend.

The data collection after giving out the questionnaire to 30 respondents to

different genders from PST, PDT and Accounting with different races (Malay, Indian,
Chinese) is presented through tables and charts concept to make more
understanding and effective way in our study.

of our research, we found that KMPK respondents most preferable places for outing
is shopping mall.

The second objective was to identify the benefit of outing during their
weekend. When data was collected, majority of KMPK respondents go out on an
outing to release tension. The respondents preferred outing by bus. The most of
them said they spent their money with RM100.The responders also say they most
likely to go out with their roommates. Studies prove that respondents prefer to go to
