Aquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) is a set of symptoms and

infection or syndrome that arise due to damage to the human immune system due to
infection with the HIV virus (Human ImmunodeficiencyVirus). Human
Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is a virus that progressively destroys white blood cells
called lymphocytes (CD4 + T cells) that maintain the immune system because the
immune system is damaged.

The type of research that is used is analytical research ie researchers trying to

find the relationship between variables with cross sectional approach. Technique of
sampling by using simple random sampling technique. The population in this study
are all students of SMAN 4 Kendari as much. The number of students class 1 and 2 as
many as 1184 people, the sample in this study as many as 298 people. Test the
relationship is done by using statistical test Chi - Square with significance level =
0.05.

The result of data analysis using SPSS 16.0 program shows the value for
knowledge level P = (0.017) < (0.05) Attitude p = (0.017) < (0.05). From the
results obtained then it can be concluded that there is a relationship between
knowledge, attitude with HIV / AIDS prevention behavior in students of SMAN 4
Kendari in 2017.

From the results of this study the researchers hope that the next researcher
from the results of this study can be one of the references and information for other
research activities related to HIV / AIDS using other variables that have not been
meticulously, and for students to expect to remain careful - Careful in acting so as not
to fall into the wrong or free association in order to avoid the danger of sexually
transmitted diseases namely HIV / AIDS.
