Pebble Wash is also commonly called exposed aggregate

finish. The 12mm thick combination of pebbles and cement

mix at the ratio of 70% and 30% is laid on the well prepared
substrate such as cement sand rendering or wall plastering.
While the fresh lay pebbles cement topping is still in
plastic stage, special brush is deployed to remove the surface
cement slurry to expose the pebbles. The next day, the
balance cement stains is to be treated with acid wash. Lastly
the finish surface is then sealed with a 2 coats of Sunseal G-
20F solven base acrylic sealer to protect from dirt and stains
as well as improves the overall strength of the floor surface
cum gives the job an attractive wet-look.

STEP NO. 1- IDENTIFY ELEMENT TO BE APPLIED WITH PEBBLE WASH

Measure the surface area to determine the amount of pebble required

for the works. Usually a bag of 25 kg pebbles can cover ten square
square feet . If you are skill enough, then you can apply thinner pebble
wash and you can cover more than one square meter area with a bag of
pebbles. Apply cement rich rendering to the surface to the required
shape.
STEP NO. 2-PREPARATION OF PEBBLE WASH MIX

Use only cement and pebble to make thick paste

Ratio of 1 CEMENT :1 PEBBLE (By volume)

Let the cement absorb water and become very sticky
STEP NO.3-APPLY CEMENT AND PEBBLE MIXTURE ALL OVER
THE ELEMENT
INSTALL PEBBLE WASH MIX WHILST THE RENDERING STILL LOOK '
WET' BUT HARD ENOUGH TO WORK ON

COMPACTING AND SMOOTHING

STEP NO.4-WASHING CEMENT ON TOP OF PEBBLE

USE SHOE BRUSH AND WATER, BRUSH

GENTLY AT LEAST AFTER ONE HOUR
AFTER ONE DAY OR MORE, USE DILUTED SULPHURIC
ACID AND ROLLER TO WASH LEFT OVER CEMENT ON
TOP OF PEBBLE
RINSING OF ACID RESIDUE
STEP NO. 5. APPLY STONE SEALANT
