Mrs Perry
552 Smithbridge Rd
Glen Mills, PA 19342

Dear Mrs Perry:

After taking multiple personality test and finding my results, I chose to research a dentist,
pharmacist, and my suggested career of a natural science manager. These careers interested me
and further researching them helped me weave through the long list of careers and pick some that
I may partake in. The personality and career test have allowed me to find myself and chose some
careers that will benefit me personally.

I chose the dentist career because I always wanted to do something in the medical field while
making a sufficient amount of money and working to help people. One of my moms best friends
is a dentist and hearing her and others talk about their career really influenced my decision to
research this career. The pharmacist career stood out to me honestly because of the
responsibilities and financial support, working as a pharmacist is a good way to make a living. I
chose a natural science manager as my third career to research because it was a job suggested by
my results of the Do What You Are test.

The personality type I recieved after taking the naviance Do What You Are personality test was
ESFP, or an Extravert Sensor Feeler Perceiver. These results show that I like to interact with
many people, talk about ideas to think them through, apply experiences to solving problems, help
others, do meaningful work, work in a friendly environment, make efforts to understand people,
have fun at work, and so many more. Using these results I narrowed down my career search into
jobs that fit around these critias and will connect with my personality.

The Do What You Are test named a few things that I would enjoy in a working environment
including hands on experience, helping people in anyway, a relaxed and tension-free zone, and
much more. All three careers that I chose allow for this type of environment. A dentist works in
an office with a small staff, which is relaxing, works hands on, and helps many people. A
pharmacist may work in a drug store, department store, or hospital, all of these areas are not as
relaxed, but not too chaotic. A natural science manager can work in a office or a laboratory,
which are both relaxed areas and include hands on work.

If I were to become a dentist, I envision my first five years as a dental hygienist working side by
side with a dentist to learn from what they do. This will give me the experience I need to
possibly start my own business or co-own one. In the next ten years I see myself becoming a full
time dentist and helping people stay healthy, I will also be financially stable and enjoy my hands
on job.

Researching these three careers allowed me to get an inside look at what a work year could be
like for each career. I still have interest in all three of these careers, but the two that stand out to
me the most are a dentist and a pharmacist. Being a natural science manager also requires
management skills along with science knowledge which is a lot of work and may take a longer
time than the other careers. I have always thought about becoming a dentist and after completing
this project, I see that it fits my personality more than I knew before. Being a dentist is a fun way
to help people, but at the same time make a good amount of money. I believe that becoming a
dentist will allow me to be happy in my adult working life.

This project has given me a better understanding of what career path I may follow, but also
suggest some other careers for me to follow. I will continue to research more careers, but for
now I have an idea of which careers will fit my personality best.

Sincerely,

Emma Taviano
