Summary of duties or job functions:
a) Responsible for staff payroll.
b) Responsible for inter bank and inter agency reconciliations.
c) Responsible for issuing and responding to advice from ARB Apex Bank ltd and other
agencies.
d) Responsible for updating the general ledger, the income and expenditure account and
the office account.
e) Responsible for responding to salary advice from the controller and accountant general
department and those from other institutions and companies.

The organization had only one accounting personnel (Project Accountant), and due to the large
volume of transactions, I was engaged on a two month contract to:
f) Review and update the cashbook balance in the organizations accounting software
(Accpac).
g) Take inventory of bank statements and request for those that were not on file.
h) Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements for 32 bank accounts covering the period
January 2004 to December 2008.
i) Highlight for management attentions, errors and omissions detected in the cashbooks
and bank statements for corrective action,
j) Investigate and follow up on outstanding items (errors and omissions) on bank
reconciliation statements.
The work brought to bear major issues, which served as a basis for Managements decision to
close some of the bank accounts and also attend to various errors in the ledgers in their software.

Summary of duties or job functions:
a) Prepared periodic bank reconciliation statements for the attention of the Accountant.
b) Prepared payment vouchers, wrote cheques and recorded all approved cheques in the
payment register.
c) Handled the Institutions Petty Cash. It involved reviewing petty cash payment vouchers,
making payments, seeking reimbursements and updating the petty cashbook.
d) Carried out periodic review of the appropriateness and adequacy of claims report
submitted by Health Institutions,
e) Ensured that registers and files are maintained for cheques, vouchers, receipts, and
letters.
Computer Skills • Possess advanced Microsoft Excel skills necessary for financial modeling: development
of templates, using Excel functions such as Pivot Tables, IF, V Lookups, Data Table,
Linking of spreadsheets, Sum IF, among others. Possess strong Microsoft Word,
PowerPoint & Internet skills expected of an Accountant. Possess working knowledge in
Tally Accounting software.
