Subject Title: Empowerment Technologies (for the Strand)

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
Differentiate the basic characteristics of Web 1.0, Web 2.0;
Understand the future of World Wide Web through Web 3.0.

II. Subject Matter : Introduction to Information and Communications Technology

Materials : Papers, Pens, Manila Papers, Chalk

Activities
i. The Teacher elicit from the learners some examples of the things that are
STATIC
DYNAMIC
ii. A Statue dance may be played or other similar play and freeze games.

Analysis
When a thing is static, what usually happens over time?
Are there noticeable changes with a static thing?
Can you interact to static objects, say, a statue?
How about dynamic things? What are the things that usually happens to
them over time?
Does it change?
Can you interact with dynamic objects, say, a computer?

Abstraction
i. The teacher will collaboratively discuss with the learners the following
concepts and their nuances;
Web 1.0 a flat, static web pages where a user can only read.
Web 2.0 dynamic web pages were added where a user can interact,
participate and contribute contents.
Web 3.0 the future of the web. Also relates to Semantic Web and the
Internet of Things.
The problems causing Web 3.0 to be halted to its realization
o Compatibility
o Security
o Vastness
o Vagueness
o Logic

Application
1. What websites are examples of Web 1.0 and Web 2.0?
2. What are current innovations which shows an onset of the Web 3.0 or the
Semantic Web?

IV. Evaluation/Assessment
Identify the following if they are features of Web 1.0, Web 2.0 or Web 3.0. Briefly explain
your answers;
1. Facebook enables users to create a profile network with other users.
2. WWW. Awwwards.COM are the Website Awards that recognize and promote the
talent and effort of the best developers, designers and web agencies in the world.. All
the posts on the said website is static and cannot be edited nor commented on.
3. The google self-driving car project is a vision of google to have a self-piloting cars.

V. Assignment
As a group, brainstorm about other possibilities where Web 3.0 might lead into. List
down these possibilities in a Manila Paper and appoint somebody who will report about it in
front of the class.
