Instructions to Candidates
1. Unfortunately we are unable to provide you with accommodation during the interviews. So, kindly make your own arrangements for stay.
2. There will be first round of interviews in the dept's of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Cell Biology, Molecular Biophysics, MRDG, Ecology, and
Neuroscience for short listing. Second and final round of interview will be held only for shortlisted candidates after first round of interviews.
Therefore, candidates called for and attending interviews in these departments are required to come prepared to stay up to 9th June, 2017.
3. You are advised to visit the individual department's website for additional information and details about the interview process.
4. Kindly bring one set of photostat copies of certificates and mark statements from 10th Std onwards for verification with entries in the Application
Form. Also you should bring with you this interview call letter along with a print out of your online Application form.
5. After the interviews, if you so desire, you may change the order of preferences of departments by going to the Applicant's interface by clicking on
"Change your department preference" and change to the desired preferences. This has to be done on or before 12th June, 2017.
6. A large number of candidates will be interviewed during 3rd to 9th June, 2017. So, kindly adhere to the date(s) and time allotted for your
interview. The departments may entertain a change in date or time in extraordinary circumstances to a new date and time, within the interview
period between 3rd and 9th June.

7. Candidates who have been called for the interview based on 'INSPIRE fellowship' are required to produce the official award letter from DST
which is valid for activating the fellowship by 1st August 2017, immediately after joining, if selected..
8. Candidates who have been called for the interview based on their performance in the Joint CSIR-UGC NET for JRF and UGC NET for JRF are
required to ensure that they hold the 'JRF' fellowship. Candidates who have qualified only for Lectureship (LS) are not eligible for taking the
interview.
9. Due to financial constraints, TA/DA will be paid only to SC/ST candidates for attending interview. However, for selected candidates who are
taking admission to IISc, TA corresponding to 3 way fare from their home place to Bangalore (by II Class sleeper train fare) will be paid after
joining the Institute.
10. For your information on arrival at Bangalore - Indian Institute of Science is popularly called TATA INSTITUTE in Bangalore. It is situated at a
distance of approximately 6 Kms. from the Bangalore City Railway Station/City Bus Station/Cantonment Railway Station and within 2 Kms. of
the Yeshwanthpur Railway Station. Bus numbers from Bangalore City Bus Station are 273, 276, 99A, 99B, 272, 252.
