Title: Standard Electrical Symbols

There are a few codes of practices and Singapore Standards that standardize the use of
electrical symbols for computer-aided design. There are as listed below:
a. SS 202 : Part 7 and 8 : 1999, and
b. CP 83 : Part 2 : 2000.
The code and standards recommends a common set of symbols to be used by all parties in the
building industry in the preparation of drawings. This will eventually:
provide a standard set of 2D graphical symbols to represent entities of building components
for the building industry,
facilitate common understanding and interpretation of information in drawings by different
users of building industry, and
facilitate easy and efficient exchange of information.
Extract of the codes stated above is listed below for use in the module.
