SUBJECT PROTECT YOUR COMPUTER FROM WANNACRY VIRUS (RANSOMWARE)

Good Holy!

As of May 13, 2017 a ransomware called wannacry virus has spread all over the
world and it's on track to be one of the biggest recorded ransomware attacks ever, with tens
of thousands of infected computers in nearly 100 countries. The attack largely hit businesses
and large organizations: UK hospitals, a Spanish telecom, FedEx, the Russian Interior
Ministry.

Ransomware is a type of malicious software that takes over a computer and locks the
user out, preventing them from accessing any files until they pay money. This particular
program, called WannaCry, asks for about $300, though the price increases over time.
WannaCry takes advantage of a Windows flaw discovered by the NSA and made public by
hackers in April. Microsoft (MSFT, Tech30) did release a patch for the vulnerability in March.
But computers and networks that didn't update their systems were still at risk.

Heres how you can protect your computers from the data-damaging virus:

Do not open emails from Leni Robredo, Jim Paredes, Cynthia Patag, Raissa Robles,
Maria Ressa, Atty. Jesus Falcis or Agot Isidro.
Refrain from getting your online news from ABS-CBN, Inquirer or Rappler, TIME, or
New York Times.
Be cautious when clicking on links from Winnie Monsod , Chito Gascon or Georgina
Hernandez.
If you see phrases on your emails or social media accounts such as UN Rapporteur,
frailties of a woman, or na ano lang, or any file that contains .exe delete them right
away. They contain the dreaded virus.
Be very afraid when a yellow flip flop icon appears on your Facebook, Twitter or
Instagram accounts. Your computer has been compromised. See an IT immediately.
