Toddler Activity Pre-Plan: Part One

1. What concepts or skills are the toddlers exploring or practicing as they participate in your activities today and where will they explore
them? What TTD Chapter are you referencing? TTD Ch. 12- This weeks plan focuses on giving children the opportunities to experience
and explore different movements. Movement is really important for young children because it provides development of new skills and
coordination. These concepts eventually aid in self-esteem. In flop and drop children will learn how the movement of their hand effects
the movement of the puppet they are playing with. In blocks children will use fine motor movements to connect the flexi blocks together
and place the lizards inside or on top of their creations. In the dramatic play area children will pretend to be fire men who climb ladders,
dump buckets of water, and run to put out fires. Children will have the opportunity to use gross motor movements while jumping and
bouncing on the mini trampolines. Outside children will have to bend over to push the dump trucks around the playground. Also
children will have the opportunity to throw or toss bean bags into the bean bag board.

2. What would you like me to specifically observe about your teaching/guidance skills during your lead teaching day?
Section 3 Criteria b. I set expectations for involvement and model how to participate in the activity. I want to know if my expectations
are clear and if I model the activity well enough for the children to be able to follow me.
1. Briefly describe your planning for the 12 toddlers in your lab in the chart below and how you anticipate them exploring and practicing
their goal as they participate in the activities you have planned. Remember to talk to your teaching team before you begin this, so
that you are not planning duplicate activities each week.
