INTRODUCTION
National Highway Authority (NHA) with the intent of successful execution of its large contracts
requires that works are awarded only to firms that are suitably experienced in the road/bridge
works, that are financially and managerially sound, and that can provide all the equipment
required in a timely manner. For this purpose, NHA carries out the annual assessment of the
capacity of firms prior to being invited to participate in open bidding for NHA Projects. Annual

enlisted firms are invited to submit bids and Post qualification/Pre-qualification may also
apply in such cases. For Large Works falling in limit beyond upper limit of Category RC/BC-1
and Complex Works falling in any Category, Pre-qualification among interested firms
(whether or not enlisted) shall be carried out, where the applicants will be encouraged to form
