GENERAL:
2016-12-01
Update was done on the new DP version 6.19 on WS 1 & 2.( before on WS 3 on back up bridge).
Start to prepare with some rubber protection on the New Gangway Bridge before lifting.
Modification of the Sb aft MP supply and exhaust fans.
New power supply cable into bottom of Pedestal.
Lifting the Staircase from Main deck to be placed around the Pedestal.

New Gangway was lifted today 1/12-16 due to the very favourable weather.

VFD cleaning/maintenance on Thruster 3 is completed by GE (no 6 was done yesterday).


Harry is continue with the DG no 4.

Luffing cylinders on MA Gangway connected.
Assembly of ladders onto the Stair case.
Modification on Pontoon aft exhaust/supply fan ongoing
Modification of Service platform for the Cone is ongoing.

GE is at the moment working on No 1 Thruster VFD with maintenance and cleaning all cards.
GE is also today testing the software for the newly installed logic software on the PMS, with partial black
outs etc.
Continue general Housekeeping on deck.
Ballast computers had a light upgrade from GE.

Electrical work with signal and power cables are in progress inside the Pedestal, by MA.

Welding new utility pipes to match better with new constructions.


GE finished with maintenance/cleaning on VFD on Thruster no 1. (Note that all PIB cards are replaced by
new).For all Thrusters.
Start to connect utility hoses on Gangway.
Welding reinforcements on new ladders on the staircase.
Cancelled the earlier boom rest (old), and continue on a new model.
Mount hand rails on top of Gangway.
Modification continue for service platform for Gangway Cone.
Modified background plate to fit new screen for the Gangway on the Bridge

Changing expired Life rafts to newly overhauled/serviced.


Modification on Pontoon aft exhaust/supply fan ongoing.
GE is at the moment working on No 4 Thruster VFD with maintenance and cleaning all cards.
GE is since yesterday testing the software for the newly installed logic software on the PMS, partial black
outs,been carried out, the result yesterday was not satisfactory, but according to SI Eric which have been
involved in this, say that now its ok, only small adjustment needed.
Fabricating brackets for lights on staircase and same for POB
Harry is continue the 12000hrs on the DG no 4, abt 60% done.

Hand rails mounting on top of Gangway completed.
The Service platform was lifted in place, and top section is bolted to the section below.

Last adjustment on the Boomrest .


On going work with the staircase.
Electrical work with signal and power cables are in almost completed inside the Pedestal.

Gangway Cone is put in place by the Spider guys.


1st move done with the new Gangway, have to move it out of the way before getting the Sevice platform
lifted in place, all worked fine.

VHF and PA system back in new place on the Bridge consol.

GE finished with maintenance/cleaning on VFD on Thruster no 5. (Note that all PIB cards are replaced by
new), for all Thrusters. The old cards 2 pcs is kept on board as spares, the other 4 pcs are kept with GE.
Welding brackets for lights on Staircase.
5 persons from CIMC (Owners) including Lu Chuanbin visit the vessel.
ABS is on board and have approved the welding on the Pedestal today.
Gangway signals adjusted into DP, not finish yet will continue tomorrow.
Auto-lift performed today (Test), went very well, took approx. 5-6 seconds, much faster that the old
Gangway.
Continue the work with Service platform (for Gangway Cone).

Still some work left on Boom rest.

On going work with the staircase.

Today GE Technician Rogerio did the last VFD on Thruster No 2, and left with a chopper in afternoon.

ABS been on board and approved the Load test done with the Gangway.

Extra weight had to be attached to reach the 10-Ton load.

A Full function test done successfully today with MA.


Gangway signals adjusted into DP, not finish yet will continue tomorrow (GE).
DP test are ongoing with GE, problems found between the controllers today, and they,
are working on this, and the DP operators are now testing the Bias groups added today
and tonight.
Continue the work with Service platform

ABS left this morning due to delayed Choppers.
Today Petrobras Technician arrived on board, and had a meeting on what they require before
connection.
It was decided that the Gangway needs to be tested with functions/alarms/auto-lift/sensors/ etc.
The outcome from todays test on the Gangway, was good, only a few remarks:
1, the sound telephone (old style) needs to be changed to a standard phone, and position of the phone
needs to be changed closer to operator.
2, UPS for UHF radio missing.
Above will be corrected as soon as possible.
Apart from above, all outside testing was successful, and PB is happy with this Gangway.
Gangway signals adjusted into DP, not finish yet need additional calibration, also new screen need to be
100% installed(GE/Eric).
DP test are ongoing with GE, problems found between the controllers WS. 1 & 2 is solved, it was a
misunderstanding between operators and GE that didnt inform about the software that were installed.
Since yesterday up to today the different BIAS groups have been tested by the DP operators.
4 different configurations are installed to choose between, and most probably 2 of them will be most
useful.

Historical day for OOS Gretha, test connection done with new MA Gangway to P08. See below.

The test on pictures above went very well, the calibration was again tested by PB
(Extension/Elevation/Azimuth), and free mode work fine.
Petrobras Technician continue with the black-out recovery, and Switchboard breakers test, the outcome
late afternoon was:
Thruster 1 & 2 is showing problems with breakers when testing Partial black out recovery, Alarms from
Gangway not showing in DP, talk back system needs to be working as well as UPS for the same.
And its not possible to change the Traffic light from Bridge to Gangway red or green, on the newly
installed monitor that are only for the Gangway (MA).
I have asked PB technician for a list which I will get tomorrow 9/12, on whats need to be solved before
connection
PB are at this late evening checking the black-out recovery for breakers on T1 & T2, If PB will continue
with the rest of the remarks tonight or continue tomorrow with above mentioned issues, is not decided
yet.
The fire alarm for the Gangway need to be connected to ships main panel.
Gangway signals adjusted into DP, and was calibrated today by GE (Extension/Azimuth/Elevation), some
adjustments need to be done still on the new screen for Gangway on the Bridge (GE/Eric).
DP test are ongoing with GE and PB.
Above is adjustments done to the service cage under the Gangway itself.
Work ongoing with Boom rest.
Newly fabricated Utility pipes are fitted on the Gangway.

Service platform are in progress to be completed.


Gratings are now fitted back on the Staircase after paint job.
Harry is continue the 12000hrs on the DG no 4.( should be finish for test start 9/11).

The work with Boom rest and Service platform is ongoing late this evening.

2016-12-09
PB wanted another test with the Azimuth on the Gangway.
And Thruster 1 is now ok with the breakers for Black out recovery.
It was borrowed from a spare (not in use) breaker to correct this (acc. to SI Eric).
Thruster 2 with same problems as No 1, was corrected and are now ok.
PB technician did some more check and found a fault on Thruster No 4 breaker, but even this was
corrected (took half day), before he was happy.
UPS for talk back system needs to be installed
The Traffic light to change from green to red or opposite is working fine from Gangway , and also on the
POB computer on the bridge, but not from the newly installed monitor that are only for the Gangway
(MA).Work is in progress with this.
HSEQ OOS, Juliana left today as well.
MA technician left today, and went ashore.
Got the list from PB technician today afternoon, with all items, but its of course all in Portuguese.
The fire alarm for the Gangway need to be connected to ships main panel.
Adjustments done to the service cage under the Gangway itself.
Spacer was fabricated, to allow the cage to go free from the Boom rest while lifting or parking the
Gangway.(above).
Fitted protections on the brackets for above pipes on Gangway.
Service platform are in progress to be completed.
No info today if DG no 4 was started/tested or not today, will check this up tomorrow.

POB for counting people going on/off Gretha is finally connected.

At this very late hour, its been done a last GE upgrade on the Gangway, and at this moment, a lot of
scaffoldings is removed from the Pedestal/Boom rest.
Expect to connect after midnight 10/12 to P08.

2016-12-10
At 02:55 The Gangway was finally connected to P08 for 72 hrs endurance test required by PB.
At 02:55 Gangway connected to P08 for 72 hrs endurance test required by OB.
Ge is finished with all the software upgrades.
SI John G/SI Patrick P/Dragan/SI Eric K/Harry and his helper/Long/Brother, all left Gretha this afternoon,
Higor remain to go through some pendencys with PB.
UPS for talk back system needs to be installed, remains to be done
Chief Electrician working on the Traffic light on the new monitor.
The fire alarm for the Gangway are in progress to be connected to the main panel.
Service platform are in progress to be completed.
Boom rest need to be finalized with side protections mounted.
DG no 4 was started and load tested today and are back in operation.
POB for counting people going on/off Gretha is finally connected and tested ok.
Sevice platform mounted for Thruster No 6.
Remains is to mount ladder also for easy access to the platforms.
Been Connected for 14hrs so far up to 19:00lt 10/12, and so far all is good.

Assisting Qualitec installing Mushroom air vent on A-deck.
Assisting Qualitec with Utility hoses on New Gangway.
Cat pump no 5 oil leak repaired.
300hrs sevice done on Sevice air compressor no 2.
Installation and connection of new UPS for the operator cabin on New Gangway, for radios and
Telephone.

Assisting Qualitec installing ladder to the Cone service platform.
Brushing and painting on Boom rest/Service platform/ and around the Staircase area.
Filled up Dryer no 1 with new Dessicant.
Working on Showers (flooring) on deck no 2.

MA arrived on board.
Work continue with repairs on flooring in the Showers deck 2.
Assist Tech ocean installing ladder to Gangway cone service platform.
Install back the Life jacket boxes into normal olace.
Huisman Fwd Crane, maintenance as per TM.

2016-12-14
Morning meeting with MA, they will do all the things they can do without connect, after that we
probably need 1-3 hrs disconnection to do the final work.
Assist MA on Gangway.
Dismantle MP supply fan, to be overhauled.
Continue with brush/painting on the newly welded items.
Continue work on flooring in Showers 2nd deck.
Mush room removed on Monkey island (Bridge supply fan), to change fan motor bearings.
MA started preparing for the gangway work including software modification, to be disconnected
after midnight.

2016-12-15
General cleaning, lifting gear inspection and continuously painting ongoing on gangway boom rest.
ME#2 13500 hrs maintenance service.
ME drop test, viscosity test and water contamination test done for MEs lubricating oil.
Finished with FW pump #3 and put into service.
6 monthly on main/emergency fire pump, jockey pump and FiFi hydrophore.
Fabricating of security covers for new gangway joystick controls.
MA technicians continued work on distance and wind sensor problems assisted by Chief Electrician,
both back in service.
Internet connection established to the gangway monitoring system.

2016-12-16
MA technicians fine tuning some sensors. All completed. They both left the rig today.
Work ongoing on handrails and gratings on the pedestal for the new gangway.
Painting ongoing on gangway boom rest.
Handrails fitted on gangway boom rest, ongoing.
Continued 13500hrs service on ME#2
Cutting steel for the for platform to new gangway
General housekeeping from gangway project.
SOPEP inventory as per TM.

2016-12-17

Dismantling of scaffold at gangway boom rest was done today.


Opening up and preparing FW tanks or cleaning and inspection.
Continued painting on gangway boom rest, platform and staircase for gangway pedestal.
ME #2 13500hrs maintenance service completed. Checked valve clearence, greased fuel rack, rocker
arms and connections were checked.
Finished fabricating frames for shelves.
Continued with starting air compressor in ER D.

2016-12-18
Painting continued at the boom rest and staircase.
Emptying and venting of FW tks and balast tks
New lifebuoys arrived these have replaced the old and torn buoys.
JL Morales arrived and was shown around and started preparations for cleaning and buffing, An
inspection made of the tanks, tanks in good order need a little buffing and painting before cleaning.
ABS onboard to continue the 5 yearly survey.
Shat Harding onboard to do on load release test and airbottle change of lifeboats.
Monitoring PMS alarms due to FS/WS problem.
THO boiler inspected as per TM also LO purifiers heaters inspected.
Completion of the fabrication of platform for the hyd. room on gangway.
Started securing gratings on boom rest. Blind flanged FO tks 1 and 2.
Conitnued with installation of starting air to compressor #4.
Reinstalled ceilings that was dismantled during the gangway installation.
Elec dep. Changed out the potato peeler.
Troubleshooted waste disposal #4, soldering of FBB connections, check of DARPS system on P-08
And resetted the workstations 31-38
Disconnected the gangway and moved to a safe stand-off position

2016-12-19
ABS started inspections of FW tanks and ballast tanks.
Schat Harding tested the lifeboat on load release system to 110% overload under supervision of the
ABS inspector.
JL Morales buffing, painting and cleaned FW tanks.
GE onboard for troubleshooting the PMS workstations network failure.
MEs change over was done OMD negative pressure was tested on ME # 1, 3, 5 and 7. ME #3
adjusted due an airleak from the air regulator. Air regulator was overhauled.
Finnished with bolts and nuts for shelves, started to prepare brackets for bilge sensor 59M.
Finished with incinerator decomission.
Continued with installation of starting air compressor #4.
Fabricated and fitted stbd crane boom stop.
Fabricated access ladder and safety chains for gangway.
Assisted GE technician with troubleshooting the PMS workstation network.
2016-12-20
ABS Inspection of ballast tanks are ongoing
JL Morales finished up tankwork in FW tk S fwd mainpontoon and started the preparation for FW tk
P fwd mainpontoon.
Schat Harding started with changing out air bottles in lifeboats but the couplings were not the same
so they have to manufacture new couplings that fits. They will leave the old bottles in the boats and
come back onboard with new couplings for the change out.
Continued painting on gangway pedestal.
Cat pump #3 was found leaking, pump inspected and seals were replaced. Pump is back in
operation.
Bracket for bilge 59 sensor were installed and sensor tested, working fine.
ERB, C, D FO booster filters changed, filters were cleaned. ME #1, 3, 5 and 7 FO duplex filters were
cleaned.
Fitted ladder to gangway.
Trobleshooted the tuggerwinch.
Stripped the ballast pumps #1 and SW ME pump # 6 for the ABS survey.
Electrical department assisted GE technician with troubleshooting the PMS workstation network.
They replaced the network switch and cable as per instruction from GE in UK.
Trobleshooting of common alarms on MGPS.
Isolation of electrical motor for ballast pump#1 and sea water#6 for the ABS inspection.
GE technician downloaded a file and sent off to GE in Uk for analyse.

Meeting with GE in UK, after recommendations changed out network switch and cable.
Opening and closing of ballast tanks.
ABS inspection of FW Tk port
General housekeeping around the gangway project.
FO booster STBY filter on ERA was cleaned, cover seal was replaced.
Two Viledon filters were replaced on AHU 5.
Cleaned filters on standalone AC units.
Removed fan housing for ER C
Installed back SW pump #6 and ballast pump #1.

4) STATUS ON SYSTEMS / EQUIPMENT
DP Systems:
GE:
Installation of new DP version 6.19.
Going through all thrusters VFD
Software installation of New Gangway
New logic software for PMS
Visor installed for remote fault monitoring, not working yet.

The issues previously reported in respect of trips, partial blackouts, and load-sharing problems are
all still pending.

MAN Engines:
ME #2 and 3 13500hrs service completed.
ME #4 12ooohrs service completed.
ME # 2, 6, 8 12000hrs maintenance service upcoming will be done by service technician.

Thrusters:
New seals have been installed into Thruster 3 & 5 in the steering motor.
Access platforms are now mounted for easier service and maintenance on all thrusters.
VFD Thruster 6 is now completed with maintenance and cleaning by GE.

Engine Room Ventilation:


Installation of C and A fans completed.
Continue with installation of fans for engine room D

Engine room A, B, C, D are now drained with the old coolant, and new recommended is in the
system.

1800t Cranes:
MRU is not working in both cranes. Communication faults. Kongsberg in the loop, not sure if they
need to be dismantled and sent ashore.

40T Cranes:
Replacement of hydraulic hoses ongoing.

Gangway:
Old Gangway:
Some useable parts are put in 2 containers, to be shipped to Prometheus as spares.
A list on this will be made. Container shipped but not yet received onboard Prometheus.
I have also discussed with Eric to take care of the electrical parts that could be used on Prometheus
gangway, unfortunately the PLC is not the same.

New Gangway:
MA and Westcon technicians have been onboard and fine tuned the system. They have; fixed the traffic
light issue on the monitoring screen on bridge, technical and common alarms on the DP system, wind
sensor and distance sensor issues, Safety System On indication on bridge monitor, scaling of telescope
and slewing trend on monitoring screen and gangway tip camera. The new gangway is working fine.

MGPS:
3 out of 4 units still out of service. Only MGPS aft on Main Pontoon is working.

Galley:
New coffee machine received and under installation.
