BTP (2014-ME) Continuous Evaluation and Grading Scheme

The progress of the students will be evaluated on a monthly basis with a detailed feedback provided to
them to work upon. Tentative schedule will be as follows:

For the Autumn 2017 Session

First evaluation should be done during August 22-26. The evaluation should be conducted by the
respective supervisors. The feedback form is provided on page 2 of this document. The form should be
filled in by the student and endorsed by the respective guides after the evaluation. The filled in and
signed form should be submitted to the faculty advisor on August 26.

Second evaluation should be done during September 26-30. The evaluation will be conducted by a panel
comprising of advisor and at least two other faculty members from the ME department. A 10 slide
presentation and report will be submitted by the student in front of the panel.

Third evaluation will take place during October 24-28. The evaluation should be conducted by the
respective supervisors. The feedback form is provided on page 2 of this document. The form should be
filled in by the student and endorsed by the respective guides after the evaluation. The filled in and
signed form should be submitted to the faculty advisor on October 28.

Fourth evaluation should be done during November 14-18. The evaluation will be conducted by a panel
comprising advisor and at least two other faculty members from the ME department. A 10 slide
presentation and report will be submitted by the student in front of the panel.

The overall grading will be done using the same formula, i.e., 50% by examination panel and 50% by
the advisor. Advisors grade will be averaged over the course of four evaluations. Likewise, panels
grade will be decided based on averaging the second and fourth evaluation. Finally, appropriate
weighing will be done to decide the overall grade of the student.

Note

Please note that panel of committee evaluation justifies the progress of the work. Hence proper
presentation, report writing and explanations to relevant questions during presentation will
yield better grade. Be sincere and serious in 2nd and 4th evaluation.

to maximum 20.
b)Please avoid page numbers ii, iv, v, vi, xi of template
c)Please merge page viii, ix, x into single page
d) Please submit plagiarism check (Turnitin report) using following link
http://turnitin.com/
(e) On successful completion of project evaluation before the department,
each student will be required to submit 03 numbers of corrected hard bound
copies of the Btech project report(No Page restriction)to Department as per
the IITP Thesis template(MED).

After logging into turnitin you will be asked to submit your report. Snap
shot of same is given

None of the parts of the report should be copy pasted from anywhere.

Presentation format
**Instructions for the presentation (10 slides)
a. Background and Motivation (1 slide).
b. Literature review with summary and research gaps (1-2 slides)
c. Problem statements Brief descriptions in one slide
d. Solution approach (1 slide).
e. Technical description, results and discussion: Use
algorithm/plots/videos/Tables etc to explain. How the present results
superior or different than earlier work. (3-4 slides)
f. Conclusion: (1 slide)
g. Work Plan: Provide a plan of work until finish of BTech Project with a
Gantt chart. (1 slide)
