2017- Present: Recreational Therapist working with individuals ages 6-60 with varying diagnoses
including developmental delay, psychological and behavioral issues, autism, cerebral palsy, and sensory
processing. Utilize assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation process to provide individual
treatment sessions within the community and the clients home focusing on community integration, money
management, leisure education, coping skills, safety, navigating the environment, social skills, etc.

Lutheran Hospital Outpatient Pediatrics, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Occupational Therapy Level 2
Fieldwork Student, March-June 2017: Worked with children and young adults from infancy to age 18
focusing on fine motor skills, school readiness, sensory processing, gross motor skills, IADLs, BADLs,
social skills, etc. Student responsibilities included evaluating clients with standardized assessments,

Lutheran Hospital Adult Inpatient, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Occupational Therapy Level 2 Fieldwork
Student, January-March 2017: Worked with adults mainly on an orthopedic unit experiencing joint
replacements and/or trauma. Also spent time on adult cardiac and neurological units as well as adult ICU,
PICU, and NICU. Student responsibilities included evaluating clients and developing a treatment plan and
goals, as well as implementing BADL and IADL focused treatment sessions with the use of adaptive
equipment.

Pine Rest Christian Mental Health & Mercy Health St. Marys Hospital, Grand Rapids, Michigan,
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, August 2015-December 2016: Recreational Therapist
working on the Psychiatric Medical Unit, Child & Adolescent Unit, and Adult Inpatient Units. Utilize
assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation process to lead activity therapy sessions in a group
setting and on a 1:1 basis. Organize, plan, lead, and chart activities focused on coping skills, healthy
living skills, anger management, anxiety management, depression, ADLs, positive support, reality
orientation, pain management, recreation and leisure education.

Ecuador, Occupational Therapy Level 1 Fieldwork Student, October 2016: Spent 10 days in Ecuador
delivering occupational therapy services to individuals in a nursing home, adult day program, and
outpatient pediatric clinic with varying diagnoses including dementia, stroke, autism, cerebral palsy,
developmental delays, brachial plexus injuries, etc. Organized and implemented a combination of 1:1 and
group treatment sessions focusing on physical rehabilitation, quality of life, sensory processing, adaptive
equipment, etc.

Four Pointes Center for Successful Aging, Grand Haven, Michigan, Occupational Therapy Level I
Fieldwork Student, May-August 2016: Worked with older adults ages 50+ with varying abilities in the
community. Organized and implemented 1:1 treatment sessions where I assessed and evaluated the
clients physical, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual abilities within their home environment. Educated
clients on the Successful Aging initiative and collaborated with clients by using the coaching model to
develop personal goals. Also wrote a grant for barrier free and touchless bathroom fixtures in the facility.

Mid Michigan Health, Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Occupational Therapy Level I Fieldwork Student,
January-April 2016: Worked with children ages 0-18 with varying diagnoses including Autism Spectrum
Disorders, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Sensory Impairments, etc. Utilized occupational based
activities to promote typical development and school readiness. Student responsibilities included
cleaning, charting, planning, and implementing individual treatment sessions with supervisor present.

MapleCreek Assisted Living Center, Grand Rapids, Michigan, Activities Assistant, December 2013-
August 2015: Activities assistant working with elderly diagnosed with Alzheimers Disease and
dementia. Organized, planned, lead, and charted activities focused on enhancing quality of life while
maintaining physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual abilities.

Cradle Beach Camp, Angola, New York, Counselor, June-August 2014 (GVSU Fieldwork Experience):
Served as a camp counselor for children ages 6-16 diagnosed with: Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Spina Bifida,
Down Syndrome, Anxiety Disorders, Mood Disorders, Developmental Disabilities, Youth at Risk, etc.
Organized, planned, and lead experiences focused on enhancing social, physical, emotional, and
intellectual skills. Utilized beach, aquatics, science, sports, arts and crafts, and much more to enhance

Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA), Grand Rapids, Michigan, 2015-2017, Active
member: SOTA provides its members with volunteer opportunities, fundraising opportunities, social
events, conferences, and professional speaker events. We have volunteered, fundraised, and donated to
various Grand Rapids organizations including Kids Food Basket, Ken-O-Sha Schools, etc.

ATRA & MTRA Presentation, 2015, Conference Volunteer, Attendee, and Presenter: Co-presented
with a professor at the ATRA Mid-Year conference in New Hampshire and MTRA conference in Grand
Rapids, MI. Attended a variety of sessions to gain knowledge on Therapeutic Recreation practices.

GVSU Womens Club Softball Team, Allendale, Michigan, 2011-2013, Player and Secretary: Played
on the GVSU Womens Club Softball team for three consecutive years. Two of those years were
dedicated to holding a position in office for the club. Planned and organized fundraising events, scheduled
practices, games, and modes of transportation. Assisted in the development and use of the team budget,
and attended regular executive meetings with all club sports teams.
