C-SERIES LARGE EXCAVATOR NEW PRODUCT FEATURES

ACERT engines meet EU Stage II

settings.
Caterpillar will use the advantage of the ACERT Technology with Tier II engine
settings for the introduction of the C-Series excavators in APD.

ACERT engines meet EU Stage II Emissions Requirements

ACERT stands for Advanced Combustion Emissions Reduction Technology. ACERT provides
clean burning power, and efficiently meets the Tier II.

ACERT starts with the Cat ADAM Electronic Controller. This electronic brain regulates fuel
delivery, airflow, and other vital engine functions. Together with the "Multiple Injection Fuel
Delivery" (which is the key breakthrough for ACERT Technology), ADAM improves the
efficiency during injection and reduces emissions at the source.

The precise timing and the Multiple Injection Fuel Delivery" in addition to the "Advanced
Combustion Control" results in a more complete fuel burn per injection and lower combustion
temperatures. By lowering combustion temperatures to engine components, ACERT technology
provides longer service life and lower Owning and Operating cost.

ACERT is therefore a breakthrough "Advanced Combustion Control System that reduces

emissions levels while maintaining performance and efficiency.

For more information on ACERT, please refer to the video ACERT for Off-Road Application;
media number AERQ0002 on the Corporate Sales Library (industry / engines).
