Pre-Plan

Pizza

Date for Pre-Plan Review: 2/24/16


Date Plan will be taught: 3/16/16
Level Three Supervisor: Savannah Elsbury
Lead Teacher: Lauren Manzano-Hayes

Childrens Names and Learning/Development Goals:

1. Nathan: Nathans goal is to work on sharing and his letter sounds.


Nathan will be able to work on his goal at the manipulatives
center while using the rolling pins and cutters. He will need to
share with his peers. He can also work on his letters by
recognizing the letters in the labels of toppings and recipes in the
dramatic play area.
2. William: Williams goal is to try new foods and word on his literacy.
He will be able to work on his goal at gathering time when he
learns about the different toppings. He can learn on his literacy
skills at the dramatic play area with the toppings labels and
recipe lists.
3. Isaac: Isaacs goal is to work on his Alphabet. I will have letters
hidden in the sensory table along with tools that start with that
letter.
4. Max: Maxs goal is to work on joining with other children to play.
He will be able to work on this goal at the dramatic play area
while they play pizza parlor.
5. Eve: Eves goal is to work on sharing. She will be able to work on
her goal at the sensory area where she can share the measuring
cups to scoop up letters and objects.
6. Carlie: Carlies goal is to work on her social interaction with the
class. She can work on this goal at the block area where she will
need to problem solve and work with her peers to build different
restaurants and parlors.
Preassessment and Findings:

1. Nathan: I asked Nathan if he liked pizza and he said, Yes, I love


pizza! I then asked him what he liked on his pizza and he said, I
only like cheese.
2. William: I asked William if he knew how pizza dough was made. He
replied, I dont know, I think with bread and cheese. Then I asked
well how is the bread, which is dough made? And he said, I dont
know.
3. Isaac: I asked Isaac what he liked on his pizza. He replied, I like
cheese and sometimes other things. I asked him what kinds of
things and he replied, I cant remember.
4. Carlie: I asked Carlie how she thought pizza dough was made. She
replied, Umm I think with flour. Then I said is that all? And she
replied, I think so. I then asked her what her favorite topping was
and she said, Cheese and sometimes pepperoni.
5. Johnny: I asked Johnny if he knew how the pizza dough was made.
He replied, Yeah I know! Then I said ok tell me! He replied, with
flour and water! I then asked him where it is made. He said, The
kitchen.

Ideas to be Emphasized:
1. In order to make pizza dough, we need to use a recipe that shows all
the ingredients we need and what steps to take.
2. There are so many different toppings that can be put on a pizza, and
everyone likes different toppings.
3. There are special places where pizza is made and delivered.

Questions to be answered by the children: (Your ITBE should answer these


questions.)
1. What is pizza made out of?
2. What kinds of toppings can be put on our pizza?
3. Where is pizza made and who delivers it?

First-hand Experiences:
1. The children will be able to help with making of the pizza dough.
2. The children will be able to put toppings on the pizza.
3.The children will be able to learn concept of time while they wait for the
pizza to cook.
