Subject: WCDMAplanner and WCDMAtransporter are now commercial available for a
selected number of customers

The two TRAM tools WCDMAplanner and WCDMAtransporter are now

commercial available for a selected number of customers

The two TRAM tools WCDMAplanner and WCDMAtransporter will be commercial

available from 14th of July 2000 for a selected number of customers. Five operators
have tested both the WCDMAplanner and WCDMAtransporter with good results.

TRAM (Tools for Radio Access Management) is a toolbox for design, test and
optimization of WCDMA Radio Access Network. The TRAM toolbox consists of four
tools.

1) WCDMAplanner is a UNIX based tool used for radio network design of the
WCDMA RAN. Traffic simulation is done together with pathloss predictions for
RBS cells. The tool can import information as input from existing 2G network
tools.

2) WCDMAtransporter is a PC based tool used for design of the WCDMA

transport network. Link types as leased line, or micro wave, can be chosen for
cost optimization of the transport network. Positioning and dimensioning of the
RNC is made. The tool will use output from WCDMAplanner and other 2G
transport network tools as input.

3) WCDMAoptimizer is a PC based tool used for performance monitoring and

optimization of the WCDMA RAN. General Availability is planned to July 2001.

4) TEMS Investigation for WCDMA is a drive test tool for initial tuning and
trouble shooting of the WCDMA RAN. General Availability is planned to July
2001.

Training Courses
The following training courses are planned for both customers and Ericsson personal:

Radio Network Design: WCDMA radio network design (3 days)

WCDMA cellplanning with TRAM (2 days)

Access Transport Network design: WCDMA access transport design (3 days)

WCDMA access transport planning with TRAM (2
days)

The following courses are planned only for Ericsson personal:

Marketing and Sales: WCDMA RAN technical sales (2 days, where

TRAM is a part of the RAN concept)

Radio Network Design: WCDMA radio dimensioning proposal tool (1 day)

Access Transport Network Design: WCDMA transport dimensioning proposal tool (1

day)

Most of the courses will be available at latest in September 2000. For more information,
please contact Folke Anger, KI/ERA/RM/K.

Booking is made on Ericsson Education homepage http://oncourse.ericsson.se/wcdma/

Services
The following installation and support services are planned:
0 WCDMAplanner installation service
1 WCDMAtransporter installation service
2 WCDMAplanner support service
3 WCDMAtransporter support service

These services are described in the TRAM Services product description

Next release
Next release of TRAM WCDMAplanner and WCDMAtransporter is planned to be
commercial available in January 2001. The platform for WCDMAplanner will then be
changed from a UNIX machine to a PC.
