confessing their sins (Matthew 3:6).

And there went out unto him all

the land of Judea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him
in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins. (Mark 1:5).

3 Repent of your sins and ways. Repent ye therefore, and be converted,

that your sins may be blotted out (Acts 3:19). To repent means to have
a change of heart and mind. It involves a change in your ways. To desist
from your evil ways, turn over a new leaf and begin to do that which is
right. In fact, John the Baptist is pre-condition for the remission of sins.

4 Ask Jesus to come into your heart and consciously receive and confess
him as your personal Saviour and Lord. But as many as received him, to
them gave He power to become sons of God, even to them that believe on
his name: (John 1:12); That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the
Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9).

You can pray this prayer:
O God, I come to you in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. I am a sinner
and I am very sorry for my sins. I desire to know you and to live a holy life.
Forgive me all my sins. I believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again to
take away my sin and give me eternal life. Lord Jesus, come into my heart. I
receive you now into my heart. Make me a new creature, a child of God from
this moment. I confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. In accordance with your
word, therefore, I am saved! My sins are forgiven. I am free. Jesus now lives
in my heart! I am now a child of God! I am born again! I am a new
creature!

You should not be surprised at my saying, you must be born again (John
3:7).
Jesus, fielding questions from a secret enquirer called Nicodemus, declared you
must be born again. This should be a surprise to the uninformed mind because,
like Nicodemus we should be asking what Jesus meant. What exactly is wrong
with our first birth? What are the possibilities of a second natural birth? Why do
we need a total rebirth rather than a reformation of the man in the first birth? But
Jesus says you should not be surprised.
THE NEED
Man was originally created perfect by God, the love nature of the creator require
He gives man the freedom of choose of either obeying or disobeying his creator,
the effect of his choice will be living life for obedience and dying life for
disobedience, unfortunately man choose to disobey which make dying and death
inevitable for man, This was before he had his first offspring. Since he was
designed to replicate himself, he only reproduced offspring laced with dying life.
Man by his own act of freewill chooses death instead of life, (Deu 30:17, Rom
5:12-21) and the judgement of death was established for all his mankind.
This judgement of death put man in a self-extinction path. The process of death is
triggered as soon as he is born. The loving God keeping in line with His original
design to populate the world with a man in His image and likeness (Genesis
1:26-27) decided to intervene to redeem man, the intervention plan necessitates the
birthing of a new man that will not be subject to death and the fallen natures.
A MUST
you must be born again (John 3:7)
The born again experience is a must to escape death. There are no alternatives to it.
Products of the first birth must experience a new birth or be completely destroyed.
But the new man of the born-again fame is excluded from death (John 3:36).
WHAT BORN AGAIN IS NOT
The phrase born again is much misused and abused today. Before declaring what
it is, we need to first state clearly what it is not.
It is not being religious or being a member of a church organization. The
Church is meant for born-again people. Not for sinners and the unsaved,
because in Church you fellowship with God and the believers. That
which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may
have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and
with his Son Jesus Christ (1 John 1:3). So to be a genuine member of a
Church, you need to first be born again.
It is not the observance of religious traditions: But he answered and
said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by
your tradition? (Matthew 15:3)
It is not good works in themselves: For by grace are ye saved
through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of
works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).
It does not come by education: and much study is a weariness of the
flesh (Ecclesiastes 12:12). Education and training for the natural mind
will not bring about the newness that Jesus is talking about. Knowledge is
good, but you must be born again or it is of no benefit!
Self-discipline and bodily training will not change the heart of the fallen
man. The bible says in 1 Timothy 4:8, For bodily exercise profiteth
little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the
life that now is, and of that which is to come.
It is not a reformation, refurbishing or a remodelling.
You must be born again!
WHAT MANNER OF BIRTH?
The phrase Born Again should be more properly rendered BORN FROM
ABOVE as it occurs in the original text. An-o-then the Greek word
erroneously translated again means, from above; by analogy from the first; by
implication anew from above, again, from the beginning (very first), the top.
God provided for a birthing from the realms of himself. It is a spiritual birth. This
answered Nicodemus question whether one can enter his mothers womb again
and be born. It is spiritual. Conception is in the womb of the Spirit and the birthing
is of our new spirit man. It is a new birth, to a new spirit man, which is the real
man. Man is a spirit, having a soul and living in a body (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
In the fallen state the human spirit is dead, cut off from God and alienated. But the
new birth makes you a new specie, Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a
new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2
Corinthians 5:17)
First, your spirit man is made new, and then your soul, and body will thereafter be
transformed. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye
present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your
reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and
acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (Romans 12:1-2).
HOW TO BE BORN AGAIN
This all important needful experience can be entered into as follows:
1 Acknowledge your fallen and sinful estate to God. It is not as though he
does not know or see your state, but your acknowledgement of your
acknowledgement of your state is crucial to your renunciation of the old
state. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before
me (Psalm 51:3).
