Research Title:

A study to investigate the impact of Reward and Recognition Strategies on team


members efficiency at Le Club.

Background to the Study:

Le Hotel Club, a recently refurbished resort in the north coast of Mauritius has 182
rooms, 3 restaurants, 3 bars, 3 pools, a conference room, a gym and a spa.

The researcher occupies the post of General Manager of this resort and surrounded by
181 team members.

From recent verbal and informal feedback from the team members, it seems that there are
many employees who are not happy with the Reward and Recognition strategies.

The above feedback has motivated the student to undertake a thorough research to
investigate how the current Reward and Recognition strategies in place at the hotel are
affecting the level of the team members efficiency, so as to determine the strengths and
the weaknesses with a view to improve the Reward and Recognition of the team members
and in so doing they may feel more committed to their work thus creating a high morale,
improve their productivity which in the long term can generate more income and improve
guests satisfaction.

Problem Statement:
The purpose of this study is to explore the existing Reward and Recognition strategies
employed by Le Marina Hotel Club to determine its impact on team members efficiency
so as to come up with recommendations that will improve or strengthen employees
commitment at work thereby enabling them to deliver a better quality service to hotel
guests for them to visit the hotel more frequently.

Aim of this study:

The aim of this study is to assess the impact of Reward and Recognition strategies at the
hotel on team members efficiency at work.

Research Objectives:
The objectives of this study are the following:

1. To identify the existing Reward and Recognition strategies at the hotel;


2. To determine employees perception of the existing strategies;
3. To explore possible areas of improvement in the Reward and Recognition
strategies; and
4. To recommend strategies to either strengthen or improve the employees
efficiency at the hotel.
Research Questions:

1. What are the existing Reward and Recognition strategies employed by Le Marina
Hotel Club?
2. How do employees perceive the current strategies which are in place?
3. What are the areas of improvement concerning the current Reward and
Recognition strategies?
4. What are the possible ways to strengthen Reward and Recognition strategies in
order to improve employee efficiency?

Population:

Target 182 (12 management and 170 operatives)


Sample 100 out of the 170 operatives from different background

There is some adjustment to your 3rd objective as per my recommendation.
You may move onto the next stage and submit a proposal provided you implement the
relevant adjustments as per my comments. Furthermore, I have attached a proposal
