Supported platforms
The Ganetec recognition engine requires no or only
minimal user tuning for a specific system setup. This
makes Ganetec LPR extremely useful for mobile appli-
cations where the operating conditions are for only

ges from multiple sources and environments where

Configurability
Although Ganetec LPR will show high out-of-box re-
cognition performance already, you may configure the
OCR engine for tailoring performance and achieving
Image quality considerations even better results.
For optimal results we recommend the following ca-
mera and image quality requirements:
Rotation: The camera should be mounted in such
a way that in the resulting image of a single line licen-
se plate a horizontal line can be drawn which crosses
both the left edge and the right edge of the license pla-
te.
Vertical angle: The maximum vertical angle view
of the camera is 15 degrees.
Horizontal angle: The maximum horizontal view
angle of a camera is 30 degrees. In most systems the
horizontal angle is somewhere between 15 and 20 de-
grees.
Plate position: Ideally, mount the camera in such
way that an image of the license plate is captured whe-
re the license plate is in the center of in the recorded
image.
