The most recent bill I could find regarding education is Senate Bill number 474. The

objective of this bill is to create a grant program for improving professional development. I

appreciate this idea because I believe that quality teachers are important when it comes to the

education of Nevadas youth. Its especially important when we are one of the statistically lowest

ranking states in the U.S for education.

I read through NRS 386. This concerns the jobs of local administration. This basically

mandates which sections can do what. For example it is included within this bill that dress code

rules are left to the individual school rather than something mandated by a district or state

official. This also includes smaller statutes such as instructing schools to recycle paper and

cardboard materials. This bill also includes the establishment of a program to aide in the search

of missing children. There is not a section on teacher salary, only a section on trustee salary.

Anderson Elliot T. is a member of the state assembly. One of the Nevada senators is

Aaron D. Ford. These are the ones that I have chosen to identify. There were a lot of assembly

people to choose from and two senators.

Hello, my name is Anastacia Reed and I am contacting you regarding a class assignment

I am to complete for my EDU 210 class at CSN. I am expected to research an education related

bill, find an issue I either agree or disagree with, and contact a state legislator about the issue.

The issue I have chosen to discuss is the "Program of Missing Children" section under

NRS Chapter 386. I agree with the course of action chosen here. I am happy to see that there is a

program established to help find missing children. This creates a more positive outlook towards

the school district and those involved. As an aspiring teacher I hope to have more involvement

aiding these types of positive programs in the future. My teacher has asked me to send him a
