details
When booking your ticket, please make sure that
your arrival date is a couple of days before your
course start date to allow yourself enough time to
move into your accommodation and (if your course
starts at the beginning of the academic year) take
part in any welcome activities run by the Students
Union and the Student Centre at St Georges.
Please remember that you will need to notify our
International Student Advisor (ISA) of your arrival
details prior to leaving your home country.
You will also need to contact the ISA if your
arrival date is delayed for any reason.

Please note: If you have been issued a visa

and you do not arrive during the enrolment
period, we are required to report this to the UK
Home Office; it is therefore extremely important
that you inform us immediately of any changes
in your circumstances or travel plans

Luggage Allowance
Check with your airline what the luggage
allowance is in advance as excess luggage
charges can be very high. Most airlines allow
20-23kg of checked luggage and have strict
size and weight restrictions on hand luggage.
We recommended that you label your bags with
your full name and address in the UK to allow easy
identification. Advice on importing personal effects
and goods into the UK may be obtained from the
GOV.UK website (www.gov.uk/starting-to-import)

Shipping items
We would recommend that you wait until you
arrive in the UK to make a decision about
shipping items from your home country as
you may find that you can purchase these
items in the UK or can do without them.
