June 2016 last year was a dilemmatic moment in my life. At that
time I was accepted at Universitas Diponegoro in the accounting department via SNMPTN. A pride in my life, how come? received in the prestigious majors in big five university in Indonesia. But at that time, I was also accepted at State Finance Polytechnic STAN (PKN STAN) in tax diploma, which is also top university in Indonesia, but unfortunately I was stationed in Pontianak, an unimagineable city before. At first I was determined to take accounting only, with great expectations working in a multinational company and becoming a successful young executive. But my decision was broken by the wishes of my parents who wanted me in STAN. Besides being free of charge and only spent one year, I will be directly appointed to the Ministry of Finance, at the Directorate General of Taxation (DJP), unit which is famous for the highest income among other civil servants. Eventually I decided to comply with my parents' wishes, even though it was hard for me. I have to sacrifice my dream since high school, to be a state servant because of the parent's orders. But with the passage of time I began to sincerely, and I did realize that soon, I will graduate from education. Become a junior expert in the field of taxation and must officially give some of my personal sovereignty to this nation. Dedication to beloved nation, people say. Starting a career with the lowest position in the tax office make me know better how to treat my employee in the future. I will keep improving my competence, with take a course in law majors while I working soon, not for rank position but rather to add better knowledge when doing my duties. In addition, I will also attend an official education in diploma tax program with a special curriculum of two years since the appointment. And so on until the diploma program of taxation accounting. My dream after obtaining a bachelor degree later, if there is a chance I want to move to the Fiscal Policy Board (BKF) Ministry of Finance. Working in BKF will make it easier for me to get a postgraduate scholarship. My plan is to take a graduate program in public policy at the Jhon F Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. It sounds impossible, but I will not be discouraged. I believed that in the future my nametag is Rifai Nuruddin, A.P., A.Md., S.Tr., M.P.A., Ph.D. sound imposible, right? In the end, even if it can not be a young executive in a multinational company, I will dedicated myself to formulating the principal fiscal policy in Indonesia. Maximize revenue, budget allocation, and equitable distribution of development, and optimize public participation in Indonesia development. Because I believe that big dreaming is good, Although it will not be achieved, but at least the achievement will be close to that dream. Our founding father says:
