NOTES ON Detailing.xls
This Spreadsheet is intended to be used by qualified Civil and Structural Engineers who are
familiar with the provisions of IS:456-2000, and those who will evaluate the significance
and limitations of its contents and take responsibility for its use and application.
DISCLAIMER
No liability, including that for negligence, for any loss resulting from such usage or information
is accepted by the author of this Spreadsheet.
1. The spreadsheet is based on the details given in IS:13920-1993 for ductile detailing of R.C. Structural
elements subjected to seismic forces.
2. The details given in 'Joints' worksheet are as per IS:456-2000, which are applicable for reinforcement
detailing of joints of all types such as, Beam-Column and Column-Footing Joints, Wall junctions
at corners, etc.
3. In the calculations given in 'Joints' Worksheet, for load cases including Wind or Seismic,
permissible stresses in working stress method for concrete and steel are enhanced by 33-1/3 %
as per IS:456-2000.
4. Calculations in 'Joints' worksheet can be made for only one section at a time.
